"Getting into Something" is a song by English singer Alison Moyet, released in 1994 as the third single from her fourth studio album Essex.[1] It was written by Moyet and Pete Glenister, and produced by Ian Broudie.
The single failed to enter the UK Top 40, peaking at #51, and staying on the chart for two weeks. This was considered a disappointment after the previous single, "Whispering Your Name", had reached the UK Top 20.[2]
A promotional video was filmed for the single.[3]
The single was released with three B-Sides. One is a remix of "Never Too Late" - a song from Moyet's third studio album Hoodoo.[4] The second is an acoustic version of the Essex album track "Dorothy", and a non-album track "Ne Me Quitte Pas", which is a French song written by Jacques Brel.[5] The 12" single included the exclusive track "Getting into Something (Midnight Mix)", which is a remix by Bay Route.[6]
