Grapholita pallifrontana is a moth species of the family Tortricidae, subfamily Olethreutinae.

Distribution

It is found in most of Europe [1] and the Near East.[2]

Habitats

These moths live in grassland and scrub,[1] preferably on base soils.[3]

Description

The wingspan is about 9–12 millimetres (0.35–0.47 in).[1][3][4] Forewings are brownish, with whitish dorsal blotch and costal markings. Hindwings of the males are infuscate (dark).[4]

Ecology

The larvae feed within seedpods of wild liquorice (Astragalus glycyphyllos).[4] They overwinter in a cocoon.[4] The adult moths fly from May until July.[1][3]
