Career

Carillo played for Estudiantes all his professional career. The 25-year-old Argentinian is a fan favorite at the Estadio Ciudad de La Plata, having graduated through the youth academy and making his first-team debut in 2011. He has since installed himself as first-choice at the club and established himself as one of the most highly-rated forwards in the Primera División. Year after year is improved his technical skills and in February 2015, Estudiantes beat Barcelona Guayaquil 2-0 in their Libertadores Cup opener, played at La Plata “Único” stadium. Guido Carrillo scored three times for the “Pincha”: at 16’, 36’ and 75’ minutes, giving Estudiantes their first three points in the tournament.[1]

Olympiakos are interested in signing a striker and the latest names to be linked with a move to the Greek club are Guido Carillo and Paolo Guerrero. According to reports in the Greek press Estudiantes striker Carillo has been Vítor Pereira's wish since watching him in action and it is believed that a bid of €6.5 million would be enough to bring the 24-year-old Argentine forward to Olympiakos.[2] At the beginning of May 2015, Olympiakos have already opened negotiations with Estudiantes for the 24-year-old Argentine striker as their scout Luciano Galletti has traveled to Argentina for talks. Carrillo is wanted by several clubs from Europe with Benfica being very interested in his services.[3] Noticias Argentinas reports that besides Olympiakos, the Nerazzurri sent scout Massimo Mirabelli to watch Carrillo in a recent match against Independiente, and will inspect two further matches of the young forward. Inter meanwhile are preparing a €10 million to take Carrillo to the Serie A next season, as they go on about reinforcing their strike-force for next season.[4] Inter and Monaco are the two clubs that have expressed interest for the Argentinian striker.[5]

On 20 June 2015, Estudiantes confirmed to a $10 million transfer offer (about €8.8 million) from Monaco for the 24 years' old Argentinian striker. The club added that Carrillo has likewise agreed terms with the club from the principality, but Monaco are yet to issue any statement regarding a deal.[6] [7] [8] He scored his first goal for the club in a 3–1 away win over BSC Young Boys in the third qualifying round of the season's Champions League.[9]
