Habib Rahman (architect)
Habib Rahman, the architect of independent India was one of the visionaries who laid the foundation of the architectural vocabulary of independent India by playing a pivot role in shaping the modern architecture of Delhi.
Habib Rahman, the inscriber of the transition of India from a newly independent state to a strong republic, reflected through his architectural practice. Habib was an engineer, architect and a musician, a fusion of which is evinced in the unique purity, clarity and vibrancy of his architectural pursuit.
Professor S. M. Akhter, Dean faculty of Architecture & Ekistics, Jamia Millia Islamia wrote a book about him titled "Habib Rahman, The Architect of Independent India".
