Hangar 13 is an American video game developer based in Novato, California. Headed by Haden Blackman, the studio is best known for developing their debut title Mafia III, which was released on October 7, 2016.

History

On December 4, 2014, 2K Games announced that they had set up a new game studio, Hangar 13, led by industry veteran Haden Blackman, formerly creative director for LucasArts.[1] Blackman told GamesBeat that the studio will work on a game for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC platforms.[2]

Mafia III, the studio's debut title, was teased by 2K on July 28, 2015, and formally revealed at Gamescom 2015, on August 5, 2015, with a cinematic trailer.[3] 2K Czech had a supporting role in the game's development.[4] Mafia III was released on October 7, 2016 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.[5]
