Harvey Chochinov is a Canadian psychiatrist from Winnipeg who specializes in palliative care. On October 27, 2016, Chochinov was named to the Senate of Canada by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to sit as an independent.[1] At the time of his appointment, Chochinov was a Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Manitoba.[2]
