Herbert Rieckhoff (25 December 1898 – 30 November 1948) was a highly decorated Generalleutnant in the Luftwaffe during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Herbert Rieckhoff was captured by Allied troops in May 1945 and was released in 1948.
