Holbrook Island Sanctuary is a Maine state park located on Penobscot Bay in Hancock County. The park offers swimming and fishing plus hiking and cross-country skiing along old trails that traverse a variety of coastal habitats.[4] The park came into existence in 1971 when Anita Harris donated 1,230 acres (500 ha) of the land she had been acquiring in Brooksville since the 1960s.[3]
