The Idaho Central Credit Union (ICCU), is a state chartered credit union headquartered in Chubbuck, Idaho. ICCU is the largest credit union in Idaho, with numerous branches serving more than 244,000 members and assets of over $2.69 billion. ICCU's governing agency is the Idaho Department of Finance.

History

Idaho Central Credit Union was started on June 28, 1940 in Boise, Idaho. ICCU started out providing financial aid to officers of other credit unions in Idaho. In the 1940s, credit union officers were not allowed to be members of their own credit unions. The credit union moved to Caldwell in 1944 and then to Chubbuck in 1948. ICCU has grown to include numerous branches throughout Idaho, including a branch in Mountain View High School in Meridian, Idaho that is staffed by students.[1] In 1982, ICCU merged with the faltering Idaho Public Employees Credit Union. ICCU's headquarters in Chubbuck include numerous energy-efficient features[2] and were designed to LEED green building guidelines, though the credit union did not seek certification.[3] In 2009, Idaho Central Credit Union received the Integrity Counts! award from the Better Business Bureau.[4] In 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015 Idaho Central Credit Union was named one of the Best Places to Work in Idaho by the Idaho Business Review.
