Intelligrated is a material handling automation and software engineering company based in Mason, Ohio. In 2014, the company reported revenue of $627 million.[1] Intelligrated has production and service locations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and China,[2] and employs more than 3,100 people.[3]

History

Chris Cole and Jim McCarthy founded Intelligrated in 2001 with an initial group of 17 associates that grew to 50 employees by the end of the year. The company built its corporate headquarters in Mason, Ohio in 2002 and made its first acquisition that same year, acquiring the Versa conveyor line from Conveyors Ltd. By 2008, the company grew to more than 500 associates with field operations established throughout the U.S.[4]

In 2009, Intelligrated acquired FKI Logistex operations in North and South America from UK-based investment group Melrose plc. With the acquisition, Intelligrated expanded its product line to include Alvey palletizers,[5] Real Time Solutions order fulfillment systems, as well as tilt-tray sorters and cross-belt sorters.[6]

In February 2012, Intelligrated announced the launch of its operations in São Paulo, Brazil.[7] In June of the same year, Permira, a European private equity firm, acquired Intelligrated in a transaction valued in excess of $500 million.[8]

In December 2012, Intelligrated acquired Knighted, a supply chain management software company.[9] Four months later, Intelligrated acquired Datria, a provider of voice-enabled order fulfillment solutions. Knighted, Datria and their associated technologies became Intelligrated Software.[10][11]

Intelligrated provides solutions for retail, wholesale, e-commerce, food, beverage, consumer packaged goods, pharmaceutical and medical supply, third-party logistics, and postal and parcel industries.[12]

Intelligrated designs, builds and installs automated material handling solutions including case and pallet conveyors, IntelliSort sortation systems, Alvey palletizers, robotic systems, order fulfillment systems and advanced machine controls.[13] Intelligrated Software offers warehouse execution systems, labor management software, voice and light order fulfillment technologies, and mobility and wireless solutions.[14] The company’s Lifestyle Support Services group administers aftermarket services such as technology refresh, equipment modifications, maintenance and system assessments, spare parts strategies and track-driven training.[15] Material handling equipment brands supported by Intelligrated include Alvey, Buschman, Cleco, Crisplant, Davco, FKI Logistex, Intelligrated, Mathews, Real Time Solutions and Versa material handling systems and machinery.[16] The company also provides operational support services, design and build, solutions development and systems integration services.[17]
