International Balkan University[1] (IBU) is a university founded by the Skopje Education and Culture Development Foundation. It is in Skopje, Macedonia. It was created with the support of Turkish and Macedonian businessmen and professors. The university opened in 2006 with seven students and now has more than 500 students from many nationalities.

Accreditation

The university is accredited by the Macedonian Ministry of Education. Representatives of the Turkish High Education (YÖK) made their first visit to the university in 2008, and now the university is accredited by YÖK.

Departments and faculties

International Balkan University has 18 departments:

  1. Faculty of Technical Sciences: Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Architecture, Electronic and Electric Engineering, Civil Engineering
  2. Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences: International Economic Relations Management, Business Administration,
  3. Faculty of Communications: Public Relations
  4. Faculty of Fine Arts: Graphic Design, Visual Arts
  5. Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences: Psychology, Political Sciences, Religious Sciences
  6. Faculty of Education: Psychological Counseling and Guidance, History Teaching, English Language Teaching, Turkish Language Teaching
