Founding group members Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael formed the group after performing in an early incarnation called The Jackson Brothers, which originally consisted of a trio of the three older brothers. Youngest brother Randy Jackson joined the group after Jermaine stayed with Motown Records and the brothers went to Epic/CBS Records. Twenty-three of their singles reached the Billboard Top 40, with four of them reaching number-one.
