- Gibson Les Paul Deluxe with two mini humbuckers
- Gretsch Roundup early Japanese reissue with two Filtertron Pickups
- Fender 1952 reissue Telecaster
- Gibson Les Paul 295 Goldtop (April 2008 Guitar of the Month)
- Amplifiers:
- Just as guitarist Dave Knudson has done, Jake switched to a Mesa Boogie Lonestar (although Jake's is a 1x12 special) with custom white Tolex (with the exception of the 2X12" extension cabinet) circa Planet of Ice
- Fender Twin Reverb (used as rental abroad)
- Effects pedals:
- 3 x Line 6 DL-4s
- BBE Green Screamer
- Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer (No Longer Used Live)
- Moog Moogerfooger MuRF
- Maxon Phase Tone
- Electro-Harmonix HOG Guitar Synthesizer with foot controller
- Electro-Harmonix Small Stone Nano
- Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail Reverb
- Loop Master five switch system which acts as an effects loop, making the pedals true bypass and allowing Jake to switch between effects while singing without having to "tap dance".
- Boss RC-2 Loop Station
- Boss TU-2 Chromatic Tuner Pedal
- FX Doctor-The Scalpel. Neat pedal which cuts the volume without losing tone.
- Line 6 M13
