Born in Novi Sad, SR Serbia, he started playing at age of 10 when he joined the youth team of FK Vojvodina.[1] He made his debut as a senior in the 1988–89 season and played in the Yugoslav First League until 1992.

He then moved to Portugal where he spent most of his career, Bosančić played for C.F. União (two spells), S.C. Campomaiorense, Barnsley and En Avant Guingamp, finishing his career with União's Madeira neighbours, C.D. Nacional.
