KZFX (93.7 FM, "Z 93.7") is a radio station broadcasting a locally programmed Classic rock format. Licensed to Ridgecrest, USA, it broadcasts from Ridgecrest, California and serves the High Desert, HWY 395 from Ridgecrest to Lone Pine, Big Pine, Bishop and Mammoth Lakes area. It came on air in July, 2012 and is programmed by the veteran Classic Rock programmer and owner Chuck Contreras. The station is currently features programming from Westwood One News, California Headline News , Motor Racing Network (Sprint Cup Series), Timewarp with Bill St. James, Get the Led Out, Alice Copper weekends and The Z 93-7 Classic Disc.
The Z 93-7 Classic Disc is one of the stations most popular programs hosted by Chuck Contreras. The show features a "Classic Disc" (an original vinyl album re-released on CD) played all the way through without commercial interruptions weekdays at 10 pm.
KZFX serves Cartago, Olancha, Ridgecrest, Lone Pine, Big Pine, Bishop and Mammoth Lakes, California.
KZFX was formerly KKYT until November 16, 2013. The station aired a Country Music format until September 25, 2013.
