Kayrak is a village in Gülnar district of Mersin Province, Turkey. At 36°21′N 33°32′E / 36.350°N 33.533°E it is situated on the road connecting Gülnar to Mersin. The distance to Gülnar is 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) and to Mersin is 135 kilometres (84 mi) . The population of Kayrak is 704[1] as of 2012. The present population of the village is composed of Turks who settled in the village in 1800s. But nearby ruins of a castle imply that other peoples also existed in the Middle Age .
