Ken Ackerman

Ken Ackerman is a television news anchor and reporter in Portland, Oregon. In 2011, he became the lead anchor on KRCW's “Portland’s Morning News”, which airs as part of the nationally broadcast Eye Opener morning program.[1]

Ackerman graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor's degree in Journalism in 1983 and spent several years as an anchor and sports director at WITN and WXII in North Carolina. He moved to Portland in 1989 when he was hired as a sports reporter for KGW. After moving to KPTV in 1991, Ackerman became a fixture of Portland television, spending seven years as the host of "Good Day Oregon"[2] before heading to KATU in 2002 to serve as the host of the AM Northwest morning program until 2005.[3]

Since 2008, Ackerman has hosted “Newsmakers”, where he interviews state leaders for Comcast and CNN Headline News.[4]
