Kosar Buriro (Sindhi: ڪوثر ٻرڙو) is renowned Sindhi broadcaster, poet and writer[1] of Sindh.[2] He was born on 1 September 1958, in village Jani Buriro, Kot Diji taluka, Khairpur District, Sindh.[3]

Background

His original name is Ghullam Qasim Buriro, he is son of Akhoond Nabi Bux Buriro,[4] a religious teacher of the village.

Education

He got his primary education from his own native village Jani Buriro, matriculation from Khairpur and MA from Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur in International relations with higher position in 1982.[5]

Professional career

Kosar Buriro joined Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation as a producer in 1983. He worked as producer at Karachi,[6] Hyderabad, Larkana, Khairpur[7] and Turbat stations. He is now promoted as Station Director Karachi. He had introduced lot of artists of Sindh including Sarmad Sindhi, Shazia Khushk etc.

Literary career

He had written more than 300 articles on Sindhi culture, music and profiles of Sindhi artists.[8]
