Kurt Sametreiter (born 9 April 1922) was an Oberscharführer in the Waffen SS who was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross for his actions during the Battle of Kursk and the Battle of Prokhorovka where he was a platoon commander in the 3rd Company, 1st Panzerjäger Battalion of the 1st SS Division Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler (LSSAH). He received the award on 31 July 1943.[1]
