The Kynrem Falls is located 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) from Cherrapunji in East Khasi Hills district in the Indian state of Meghalaya. It is situated inside the Thangkharang Park.[1] It is the 7th highest waterfalls in India.[2]

The Kynrem Falls is a three-tiered waterfalls, with water falling from a height of 305 metres (1,001 ft).[3]

Sohra

Sohra, previously known as Cherrapunji sub-division in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya, is set upon a plateau on the southern slopes of the state. Sohra is dotted with waterfalls cascading over deep gorges. The swift flowing rivers and streams flow in a southernly direction to the plains. Sohra is 56 kilometres (35 mi) from Shillong, the state capital. The average annual rainfall is 12,000 millimetres (470 in). The highest recorded total annual rainfall was 24,555 millimetres (966.7 in) in 1974. Sohrarim was the original Cherra village but the British set up their headquarters further south. The village came to be known as 'Sohra' or present day Cherrapunjee.[4]
