Lanškroun Pond Nature Park

Lanškroun Pond Nature Park was established in 1990 as a place for relaxation and sports activities. It also has an importance in terms of biological and aesthetic preservation. The park encompasses 243 ha and extends around the area of Lanškroun. Olšový, Pšeničkův, Slunečný and Plockův being the most important ponds. These ponds provide quiet spots for fishing. The area of Lanškroun Ponds is an important nesting place for migratory birds. The common snipe, little bittern, white and black stork, water rail, osprey, great reed warbler and many duck species being among the most endangered ones. One can also see European crayfish, alpine newt, European and green toad, European tree frog and other species of amphibians. Flora is typical for damp areas and include the yellow iris, white water lilly, western marsh orchid, spring snowflake and other species.
