List of Running Man missions in 2016
The following is a list of missions that have aired on Running Man in 2016 (episode 280–) in chronological order. Missions that have been modified or which are played during another mission are grouped together. For other details, please refer to the List of Running Man episodes article.[1]
List of missions
Road races/themed races
These missions are variants of the race missions, which involve travelling through a city and between destinations to complete missions. Some episodes would feature special themes that form the race.
Staple missions
These missions were a main part of the show and played in many episodes along with the race mission.
- Photo Zone (포토존 게임) - Teams must appear in a designated area with their faces showing when a photo is taken.[2][3]
- Bells of Hide and Seek (방울 숨바꼭질) - Bells of Hide and Seek is a shortened version of the race mission. A "chasing" team wearing bells must catch the "mission" team by taking their name tags from their backs in an allotted time. The "mission" team will need to find hidden items in the landmark before the time runs out and not be caught by the "chasing" team. The "mission" team will win if they manages to complete the mission within the allotted time and not get caught by the "chasing" team, while the "chasing" team will win if they manages to capture all members of the "mission" team[4]
- Name Tag Elimination
Name Tag Elimination is a variation of Bells of Hide and Seek. It features a similar gameplay with the original game, except that this game is a deathmatch-like game, in which any member that has its nametag ripped will be ousted. Any chances to revive is impossible unless there will have a change of rules, or the player has a chance to have additional nametags before the game. The main mission is simply eliminate each other, but sometimes will feature additional missions that required the player to eliminate each other to obtain clues or items, or will feature additional rules that will affect the game. The last man standing will win.
Sometimes the game will feature spies. The spy can be one of the members, the guests, or both.
- Dodgeball - Two teams will throw a ball to the opposing team's area. A member is out if any part of their body is hit by the ball. The ousted members will go to the opponents area to help the attack. The team with the last man standing will win.
- Queen/King Dodgeball
The game is the same as the original dodgeball, except that one of the members will be the "queen/king" that must not get hit by the ball. The last man standing will be invincible in order to protect the "queen/king". The team with its "queen/king" surviving is the winner

- ↑ The members of a team will choose numbers 1 to 5. The members can only eliminate the other members if they have the same number. If a player rips a player with a different number, a yellow card will be given to the player. A player will be ousted if the player had 2 yellow cards. If a certain numbered player had eliminated all player with that number, the player can change its number.
- ↑ Based on the members strength, agility, and nerves, the members will be given various advantages and disadvantages (for example: a smaller nametag or sandbags, which makes the members hand heavy), with advantages and disadvantages aligned from the highest rank (most disadvantage) to the lowest rank (most advantage). In this case, the order from the highest to the lowest are as follows: Kim Jong-kook, Gary, Song Ji-hyo, Yoo Jae-suk, Lee Kwang-soo, Haha, Ji Suk-jin
- ↑ Gary & Yoo Jae-suk managed to identity the culprit but Gary's deductions were more accurate, so in the end Gary wins the prize.
- ↑ This is a Q&A episode, so no race would be conducted
- ↑ Despite losing the final match, Hyeri is still considered the winner for being the last man standing among the players.
- ↑ Kim Jong-kook didn't participate in the race due to schedule conflicts, but did participate in several missions on his own via recording. The result of these recorded missions will be used later in the race, where the members must bet how many times he won against the machines.
- ↑ This is a episode where the members would apologize to guests and themselves that have a hard time on the show, so despite continuously moving from one place to another (as a typical race looked like), this is not a race
- ↑ As the second part of "I Am Sorry, I Love You" special, this is a episode where the members will meet with 7 guests they want to meet the most (or their idol) and doing simple missions in 12 hours, if they fail, they will face a penalty, so despite continuously moving from one place to another (as a typical race looked like), this is considered not a race
- ↑ The person who is selected as the "Red Sun" will have their performance became the scoring basis for the mission. The remaining members must perform higher than the "Red Sun" did to avoid the "Loser" sticker, which will be given to those who perform worse than the "Red Sun", and the sticker will affect the final ranking. Those who are ranked lower than the "Red Sun" would receive penalty, while those who are ranked higher than the "Red Sun" would be exempt from the penalty.
- ↑ This mission is the continuation of the previous episode (Episode 297). The guest, David Lee McInnis, will ask the members a question in english. If the members managed to answer the question correctly, he/she would be exempted from the penalty.
- ↑ In each team, every members nametag has a "ingredient" that must be obtained by the opposing team in order to complete the table, in the form of 4 horizontal bars each with 4 "ingredients" that needed to obtain. The team who manages to complete at least 1 horizontal bar will win the race. However, a member in each team will have a "pepper bomb" within its nametag. If the opposite team ripped the nametag with the "pepper bomb", the opposite team will entirely ousted.
- ↑ The member with the red colour has the "pepper bomb".
- ↑ Those members in the "Prey Team" who have been captured will join the "Hunter Team" to help them capture the remaining members
- ↑ Initially, the male members choose the team they guess who the real queen was. However, the members of each team may find a Betrayal Room. This room allows members to switch teams for one last time. The room would also contain a crucial hint regarding the real queen. However, once a member enter the room, a decision must be made. Only the first 3 members that enter the room can change his team.
- ↑ The members cannot rip a queen's nametag, the queen's nametag can only be ripped by the opposing team's queen.
- ↑ The teams written here are the teams before the changes made on the Betrayal Room.
- ↑ Kim Jong-kook, Ji Suk-jin, and Yoon Kyung-sang enter the Betrayal Room to change their teams into Sung-kyung's Team, so in the end they also won the race.
- ↑ There are two ways to obtain scores: the first way is to win the games. The second way is through the "suspicious missions". The team leaders (Kim Jong-kook, Yoo Jae-suk) will be given missions that cannot being shared to fellow teammates. The team's actions are crucial for the completion of the missions. The team with the highest score combining both the game results and the secret missions will win the race.
- ↑ The one with the grey color is the "second to last" (number 8)
- ↑ Before the start of the race, each member will pick numbers 1 to 12 which will determine which team the member was on. The special agents mission is to let the "second to last" (number 8) to win at 2nd place in every missions, if they fail a hint which reveal their identity will be given. If the "second to last" reached 2nd place in the final mission, the special agents will win not only the race rewards, but also an extra prize
- ↑ The "second to last" fail to reach 2nd place in the final mission so in the end the Special Agents fail to win the extra prize
- ↑ According to the mission results, there are advantages and disadvantages for both teams. One of the Mission Team member must wear bells (for losing 1 of 3 missions). However, all members will be given hints regarding the location of the remote controls and a cup of salad that must be finished by the Chasing Team, giving them a chance to avoid capture. The Chasing Team also must go in pairs and will freeze for 30 seconds when a music is playing (for losing 2 of 3 missions). Once all remote controls are found, the Mission Team must turn a wheel, climb the ladder, and press the "all-kill" button to eliminate the Chasing Team
- ↑ If any member of the team is eliminated, the whole team is ousted. However, according to the previous mission results, a team will be given a revival card, which allows the team to play again after being eliminated. The last team standing wins the race
- ↑ The one who gets the flag becomes the final winner, regardless of the teams
- ↑ Before the start of the race, each team would pick a member who will become a "Lucky" or a "UnLucky". The teams will play games to acquire hints on the opposite teams "UnLucky" members. In the final mission, the member who ripped the opposite teams "Lucky" member will not only eliminate the member, but also can automatically eliminate another member. Vice versa, if a member rips the opposite teams "UnLucky" member, the whole team is eliminated
- ↑ The "Scene Stealer" can steal 10% of a member's viewer count to his/her own by stealing the member's shoe. However, once a member finished his/her mission, the identity of the "Scene Stealer" will be revealed. If the "Scene Stealer" gets his/her nametag ripped, he/she loses 50% of the views. The number of views the members obtain will affect the next race.
- ↑ According the mission results from the previous race, each member will have an number of hunters chasing them based on the number of views. If the member lost all 3 nametags, the member is ousted. In order to win, the members must rip a Blackmon's nametag in order to become his/her possession. The members who has a Blackmon on his/her possession can rip other members nametag as well. During the race, The Blackmons would be given hidden missions in order to disable their GPSs, and give out the members position to the hunters for 10 minutes. From the Blackmons, one will have the "Zero Dollar" tag and the other will have the "10 Dollar" tag. If the final winner identified the Blackmon with the "10 Dollar" tag, the member wins the 10 dollars, multiplied by how long that Blackmon was on his/her possession (in minutes). Vice Versa, if the final winner failed to identify the Blackmon with the "10 Dollar" tag, the Blackmons win the entire race.
- ↑ The colors represents that the hunters will chase a member that has the same color as the hunters do have.
- ↑ In order to find the passwords, the members must find a "R" marked box. If a member managed to complete the mission within the box, the member has a chance to remove a consonant from the 14 main consonants of the Korean words. If a member has all of its main consonants from its name removed, the member is ousted. However, if a consonant is removed, then all members, regardless of teams, who has the consonant on their name will also be removed. Each time a mission from the box is cleared, a small bag will be placed in the venue. Anyone who has the bag obtained the password hint, as well as the ability to rip other member's nametag. The team who managed to eliminate other members, or managed to obtain all 5 bags will win the race.
Based on the previous mission results, the winning team from the previous mission has the ability to choose a consonant that can only be removed if being chosen to be removed twice. - ↑ The team leaders for each team is a spy for the opposing team (Park Mi-sun for Women's Team, Yoo Jae-suk for Men"s Team). The spies can recruit another spy to help them. However, these spies that they recruit has a chance to betray and join their original team by ripping the team leaders nametag and put it back. However, if his/her team loses, the spy will get a penalty. The team and its respective spies wins if the team obtains the most scores.
- ↑ Kang Min-kyung betrays Yoo Jae-suk and her team loses, so in the end she didn't win the race.
