List of Running Man missions in 2014
The following is a list of missions that have aired on Running Man in 2014 (episode 179-227) in chronological order. Missions that have been modified or which are played during another mission are grouped together. For other details, please refer to the List of Running Man episodes article.[1]
List of missions
Road races/Themed races
These missions are variants of the race missions, which involve travelling through a city and between destinations to complete missions. Later episodes moved away from the "race mission + other missions" format and entire episodes became a race with missions during the race. Some episodes would feature special themes that form the race.
- 2014 Running Man Cooking Battle (2014 런닝맨 요리배틀) [Episode 179–180] – Seven teams must find and buy ingredients to make the best first weekend dinner of 2014. Each team is given a designated category (fish, chicken, noodles, crab, oyster and eel, beef, bibimbap) of which they must find and buy the freshest ingredients, and learn from cooking experts throughout Korea. After gathering the main ingredients, teams travel to the final mission venue to cook the best meal within one hundred minutes for the judges.[2]
- Farm Romance Race (농촌 로맨스 레이스) [Episode 181] – The male and female students of Running Village are known to not get along well. However, there is a secret couple within them. Two teams must perform missions to earn hints to find out who the secret couple is. The secret couple needs to complete a secret mission of doing a given couple gesture for three seconds during each mission without the members knowing to win. Teams travel to the first mission venue (a rice paddy), where teams must reach a bundle of rice straw and be the designated number of members each round to stay on the bundle when time's up. The secret couple must link their arms together. If the secret couple successfully completes their mission, the winning team will receive one real hint and one fake hint. Teams then travel to the next mission venue (a vinyl greenhouse), where team members must each take four steps to cross a pole, while blocking the opposing team from advancing. The secret couple must hold hands. Teams then travel to the next mission venue (a market), where the two teams must work together and form couples to buy something for a chosen mission. The missions include: stack all of the items in one minute; hold the item between the couples cheeks for one minute; start with a designated phrase using the bought item, and continue saying phrases with the bought item in it that start with the last word of the previous phrase. The secret couple must have their foreheads touch. Prior to the market mission, teams played the I Love You Game at another mission venue, where members must say "I Love You" to the person beside them without either party laughing. The secret couple must do a back hug. Teams then travel to the final mission venue (a school), where teams must find out who the secret couple is. If the secret couple is discovered, they lose and are sprayed with flour while the team that chose them wins.[3]
- Janggi Board Race (장기판 레이스) [Episode 182] – The members and guests each choose a janggi piece which is unknown to themselves and the other members. They must perform missions to receive the opportunity to find out what janggi piece they have and switch their piece with another member. The janggi pieces are distinguished by ranks and two different colors, which will represent the teams in the final mission. The members travel to the first mission venue (a gymnasium), where teams of two must go through an acupressure mat obstacle course fastest to win. Members then travel to the next mission venue (an indoor pool), where teams of two must perform three water missions to earn a cumulative thirty meters in height first. The water missions are: being ejected from flying chairs and throw a ball to baskets at a distance; blob jump; and diving. The first placing team can each see their own janggi piece, as well as see two others and switch one. The second placing team can each see a member's piece and switch one, and the third placing team can have one member see another's piece and switch one. Members then travel to the final mission venue (SBS Tanhyeon-dong Production Center), where the janggi pieces are revealed to themselves and teams formed accordingly. Teams now must eliminate the opposing team, but can only take the name tag of someone of the same or lower rank (General > Chariot > Horse > Cannon > Soldier). If someone of a lower rank takes the name tag of someone of a higher rank, they are paused for three seconds instead. However, the Soldier is allowed to eliminate the General. The team who eliminates the General of the opposing team will win.[4]
- Profound Secret Revealing Compatibility Race (천기누설 궁합 레이스) [Episode 183] – The members and guests have their fortune told for the new year. According to their fortune told, there are five pairs of compatible couples between them. The members must work together and perform missions to earn hints and find who the Partners of Fate are. The members form couples to perform missions and are notified if there are Partners of Fate within them. The couples travel to the first mission venue (Gwangmyeong Station), where the teams board a train and must perform missions at the next station before the train leaves the station. All couples must complete their mission and return in time to have successfully completed the mission. The couples travel to the next mission venue, where members spin a wheel to determine a celebrity they must call, and for the receiver to pick up within one hundred seconds to succeed. The couples then travel to the final mission venue (SBS Broadcasting Center), where the members must guess who the Partners of Fate are to win.[5]
- 2014 Winter Olympics Hell Training (2014 동계올림픽 지옥훈련) [Episode 184] – Two teams must receive training to become the representing team for Take the Name Tags on Ice at the 2014 Winter Olympics. The winning team of each training exercise may rest, while the losing team must perform chores (cooking, laundry, chopping wood) for the winning team. Teams travel to the first training grounds (an outdoor rink) for speed training, where teams must short track speed skate in relay, best of three rounds. Teams travel to the next training grounds (a valley) for concentration training, where teams must cross a river barefooted to reach a platform and stack a stone tower the fastest in relay, best of three rounds. Teams then travel to the next training grounds (a field) for teamwork training, where teams must move across the field and back on their feet while their hands are on the feet of another member in relay. Teams then return to the ice rink for Take the Name Tags on Ice, where team members each choose a number from 1 to 6. Members 1 to 4 first enter the rink, and teams must take name tags in order of number. Once member 1's name tag is taken, member 5 enters the rink to replace them, as with member 6 replacing member 2, so on and so forth with all members. Each name tag taken is worth one point, taking place in two rounds of five minutes each. The team that takes the most name tags in the two rounds will win.[6]
- You Who Came From Running Star (런닝별에서 온 그대) [Episode 185] – A parody of My Love from the Star, the members are in the year 1614 and must first find the girl with a "R" jade pin (young Cheon Song-yi). Members each carry a hopae, which is the equivalent to the name tag, and once taken will render that member eliminated. Once young Cheon Song-yi is found, a gama must be found to help her escape. A book of prophecies is given to that member. The year is now 1914, each member is given five brass coins used to bet on who will win in flipping a coin over by hitting the book under it. The first member to win ten coins will receive a book of prophecies as well. The year is now 2014, Do Min-joon must find Cheon Song-yi and take her away to his home planet of Gold Star in a flying saucer. He has the superpowers of psychokinesis, teleporting and stopping time. The doors to the flying saucer open in two hours, of which Do Min-joon must take Cheon Song-yi there in time to win. The remaining members must find the script to the drama, and must find Cheon Song-yi to act out the scene to find out if they are Do Min-joon. If a bell rings, then that means the two have found each other. If they are not, they must then find the key to the flying saucer and go to Gold Star on their own to win. There is also an "absolute villain" (Lee Jae-kyung), who must eliminate all members by finding nail rings with the name of a member on it of which he can then eliminate, then find the key to the saucer and leave for Gold Star to win. The first to leave on the flying saucer will win.[7]
- Seoul Sightseeing Race (서울 구경 레이스) [Episode 186] – Three teams must perform missions around Seoul to earn medals and become the "Face of Seoul". Teams travel to the first mission venue (Kwangjang Market), where teams must eat foods at up to five stations, at each station teams pick one of many cards to clear the mission. If they do not pick the "Mission Complete" card, they continue to the next station and eat the food there. The first team to complete each mission receives ten medals, and second receives five medals. Teams travel to the next mission venue (N Seoul Tower), where teams must find a number of citizens to take a picture at the tower. Each team chooses a different mission, which includes: fifteen citizens to turn the opposite way against what the production team says; twenty citizens to jump together for the picture; fifteen citizens to take a selfie with everyone's face showing. Teams then travel to the next mission venue (Hangul Gaongil), where teams must find jamo pieces scattered throughout the area to spell "훈민정음" (Hunminjeongeum). Teams then travel to the final mission venue (The Shill Duty Free Shop), where teams must find "R" boxes and gather to the "R" flag. Each box contains a game which can be played at the flag. Teams bet on how much they think their team can win using their medals. The games include: Pop-up Pirate; filling a bowl on water with marbles until it sinks; stacking coins. With the medals earned, teams then place the same number of slots on a roulette wheel as the number of medals they have. The team of the slot the roulette wheel lands on will win and be featured as the "Face of Seoul".[8]
- Cross the Han River Race (한강 도하 레이스) [Episode 187] – The members must each find two students of a designated university (Korea University, Sungshin Women's University, Dongguk University, Kyung Hee University, Chung-Ang University, Sogang University, Konkuk University) to create a boat and cross the Han River. Teams travel to the first mission venue, where teams have a four-legged race through an obstacle course. The first placing team will have first choice of materials, with the remaining teams choosing in order of completing the mission. Teams then proceed to make a boat using their materials, and travel to the Han River where they must race across it. The first team to arrive on the other side of the river will win. The first three teams to arrive will receive scholarship money as well.[9]
- Australia Adventure: Find the Lost Treasure... (호주 어드벤처 잃어버린 보물을 찾아서...) [Episode 188–189] – Four teams must perform missions to find the lost treasure in Australia. Each member unknowingly chooses one of the four elements (Fire, Water, Air, Earth). The teams travel to the first mission venue (Moreton Island National Park), where teams must dive into the water near a shipwreck to reach one of four treasure chests. Keys to the chests are scattered throughout the surrounding seabed. After opening the chest and retrieving the glass bottle inside, teams find the location to the next mission venue (Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary). The first team to find the glass bottle and return earns the privilege of each asking a question regarding which of the four elements they are. The second team can ask if there is a certain element between them. Teams travel to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, where teams must wear a kangaroo costume and high jump 3 m together. Teams then choose one of four pictures of koalas, and must find that koala and take a picture of it. Teams then travel to a grocery store to buy designated ingredients given in English for dinner. The first team to arrive at the lodge can each ask about which of the four elements they are, as well as first choice at switching teams for the next day. The next morning, teams wake up and arrive outside to choose the next mission in order of arrival. Teams travel to the next mission venue (McLarens Landing), where teams either ride a Jeep, seaplane, or parasailing boat. The Jeep mission involves holding a cup of water while riding and must have at least 900 ml of water left. The seaplane mission involves creating a necklace of fifteen pearls while riding. The parasailing mission involves answering seven questions correctly in one minute while riding. The first team to complete the mission can each ask what their element is, the second team can ask if there is a certain element between them. Teams then travel to the next mission venues in Melbourne, where teams must get a restaurant worker to say a certain phrase; gathering six males and arm wrestle them; guess what Korean song a foreigner is singing; having a foreigner continue singing a given song. Song Ji-hyo who was absent from the first day now must gather three Earth cards by eating everything given at three venues to become the Goddess of Earth. When a team completes their mission, they can choose an additional element card. Teams then travel to the final mission venue (Royal Exhibition Building), and must find envelopes with their cards representing their chosen element to gather all four elements. If they find an envelop of another person, they must take that persons name tag first in order to open the envelope and take their card if necessary. The first team to gather all four element cards and stand on the platform will win.[10]
- The Star of Running Hills (런닝힐즈의 별) [Episode 191] - As the third day in Australia, the members must travel to the State Library of Victoria and find books with gold "R" stars that will be used to represent the ranks of the members. The members "enter" the book travelling back in time to the Gold rush era in 1854. The members are now sheriffs where the stars they have are now badges. The members perform missions using their badges to wager in order to earn more badges for the final mission. The members bet using their badges on who will win in ddakji, serving a glass of water on someone's head blindfolded, and stacking ten to fifteen coins to a tower of coins without collapsing. The members travel to the final mission venue (Sovereign Hill), where sheriffs must take the name tags of other sheriffs to eliminate them and take their badges. However, sheriffs can only take the name tag of sheriffs who are of the same or lesser rank. Taking the name tag of a higher ranked sheriff will result in losing one badge to them. Sheriffs may also earn badges by performing missions throughout Running Hills. Two missions allows a sheriff to earn the Absolute Badge, one allowing the owner to take the name tag of any sheriff regardless of rank for ten minutes, and one allowing the owner to recruit a "Shadow", an eliminated member which helps the owner for five minutes. The last sheriff standing with the most badges will win and become the best sheriff.[11]
- Select the Best Rescue Team (최고의 구조대를 선발하라) [Episode 190] – Two teams must perform missions to receive First Choice Cards for the final mission and become the best rescue team. Teams travel to the first mission venue (63 Building), where teams must run up the stairs of the building from the first floor to the sixtieth floor in relay, with team members deciding how many floors they wish to run. Once teams reach the sixtieth floor, the real mission is given, answering questions on art pieces in the staircase. The first team to answer the question correctly receives a First Choice Card. Teams then travel to the next mission venue (Seoul City Hall), where both teams answer quizzes 1:1 in an all-kill style. The team member to answer the question correctly continues to answer the next question, while the other team's member is eliminated. Incorrect answers will cause their team to be blasted with air, as well as correct answers blasting the opposing team. The team to eliminate all of the other team's members will win and receive a First Choice Card. Teams then travel to the next mission venue (a soccer field) for "Go" Fighting, where teams must push the opposing team off the acupressure platform. The winning team reveices a First Choice Card. Teams travel to the final missions venue (Seoul Metropolitan Fire Academy), teams may choose first in three choices according to the first choices earned. Teams must go through a fire fighting relay course composed of six sections. In section 1, that member must slide down a pole and reach the second section. In section 2, that member must carry the first member and firewalk. In section 3, that member must use a extinguisher/bucket to put out a small fire. In section 4, that member must climb a wall to reach the roof using a rope/platform. In section 5, that member must roll out a fire hose and use it to shoot down a target that is 5/7 m away. In section 6, that member must climb a 10 m wall and reach the top to ring a bell. Each member must hold and place the name tag of the next member in relay in order to continue. The first team to complete the relay course will win and become the best rescue team.[12]
- Sensible Camping For Spring (봄 맞이 감성캠핑) [Episode 192] - Seven teams must perform missions to travel via public transportation to reach the final venue first. Teams randomly choose the method of transportation (airplane, train, bus) and mission expenses money. The two airplane teams must play "human curling" to determine who takes the earlier flight, and who takes the flight three hours later. The two bus teams must perform a mission at each rest stop. At the first rest stop, teams roll a die to determine which menu item they must eat and return to the bus in fifteen minutes. The three train teams must perform a mission at the next station. At the station, two teams determined by games within the train must roll a die to determine if they will board the train again or be eliminated. Eliminated teams must take a bus. The train and airplane teams then arrive at a bus terminal and must roll a die to determine a mission they perform in order to take a bus to the final venue. The missions include: eating a spicy dish within two minutes and not drinking water for one minute after; balancing a flag pole on your hand for three minutes; holding your breath in a bowl of water for three minutes; sitting on a traffic cone for two minutes; holding your partner by the legs above you for two minutes. Once teams complete a mission, they are given the final venue location. The bus team once arriving near the final venue must sign twenty autographs for citizens, then they are given the final venue location. Once reaching the final venue, teams must find a citizen and bring them along to the final venue. In accordance to the order teams arrive at the final venue, each team receives a different tent for the night.[13]
- Mafia vs Citizen (마피아 vs 시민) [Episode 193-194] - The next morning of Sensible Camp, teams wake up to a new mission. Each member is given one of two identities (mafia or citizen). The mafia must not let their identity be exposed, while the citizens must find who the mafia is. The members perform missions to place in the first few to not become mafia candidates. After each mission, the members decide upon two members they believe are the mafia that will be eliminated from the race. If even one mafia member lasts to the end of the race, the mafia wins. Teams travel to the first mission venue (a mud flat), where each team must catch five crabs to use in a "crab race". The first two teams to have their crab cross the finish line wins and cannot be eliminated as mafia candidates. Teams then decide upon one team that has the mafia to eliminate. Members then travel to the next mission venue (a boat), where members play individually and must catch fish. The first four members to catch fish cannot be eliminated. Members then travel to the next mission venue (a snack bar), where members must find and buy items corresponding to the two initial sounds given. After three rounds, the final two members standing cannot be eliminated. The mafia members will also be told who their colleagues are after the mission. Members then travel to the next mission venue (a field), where members must harvest five Chinese cabbage (three for women) and bring it to a wheelbarrow, then race back to the finish line with it. In two rounds, the first two members to do so cannot be eliminated. Members than travel to the final mission venue (Ttangkkeut Auto Camp) where members determine who the remaining mafia are. If all four mafia members are found, the remaining citizens win.[14][15]
- 2014 Idol Athletics Competition (2014 아이돌 체육대회) [Episode 195] - Three teams must perform missions to win the 2014 Idol Athletics Competition. Teams travel to the first mission venue (SBS Prism Tower), where teams must run a marathon in relay to different checkpoints to bring a tape to the Prism Tower. At "R1", teams must purchase an Americano coffee then bring it to "R2" and finish it. The next member at "R2" must throw the coffee cup into a garbage can from a distance, then choose and walk a dog to "R3". At "R3", one member must piggyback another to "R4", where the two members must answer a quiz relating to something they passed by. If they answer the question incorrectly, they must return to find the answer. The member at "R4" then must run to "R5" in swim fins. The last member at "R5" must then take the tape to the basement control room of the Prism Tower to have their teams music video broadcast on the towers large screen all day. The winning team receives a "Special Benefit Card" for the final mission. Teams then travel to the next mission venue (a schoolyard), where teams must wear a large potato outfit and guess something about MC Yoo. For the first round, team members must choose one of five food items of which MC Yoo only eats four of the five. The members that chooses the food item MC Yoo does not eat will be eliminated from the mission. For round two, members choose one of fourteen numbers that represent the order of knives inserted by MC Yoo for the Pop-up Pirate game. The member who's knife ejects the pirate will be eliminated. For round three, members must guess whether MC Yoo can do eighteen pull-ups or not. The members who guessed wrong will be eliminated. The team with the most members remaining will win and receive a "Special Benefit Card". The teams then travel to the final mission venue (Seoul Energy Dream Center), where teams face off 1:1:1 in taking name tags. Each team sends one member out to take the name tag of the other teams. When a member is eliminated, another member is sent out to replace them. The order of the members that go out will be randomly picked. One of the "Special Benefit Cards" allows a member of another team to be eliminated from the start, the team will be chosen but the member eliminated will be randomly chosen. The other "Special Benefit Card" allows a member of the team to participate twice but that member will also be randomly chosen. The last team standing will win the 2014 Idol Athletics Competition.[16]
- Time Travel (시간여행) [Episode 196] - The members wake up and find themselves scattered throughout without a name tag. The members are all eliminated and must find their name tag to be revived. Using a hint provided, the members must find the location. After finding the location, they are told they must find and eat a mysterious pill to go back in time and get their name tag. Once a member finds a mysterious pill and eats it, all the members are taken back to a previous time as prescribed on the pill and can relive that race in hopes to change the results. The first time travel takes the members back to April 22, 2012, Prison Break (episode 91), where members are locked in separate prison cells and must escape. They must find the floor plan of the building to find the way out. If they are caught by guards, they will be sent to the temporary jail. However, the member who ate the pill is given the opportunity of a pardon, he must re-imprison the rest of the escaped members by spraying their name tags before they escape the building. The inked name tags will notify guards of that persons location and required arrest. If he is unsuccessful in re-imprisoning the other members, he will lose, as well as the members he re-imprisoned. Members who lose will receive a double sized name tag for the next time travel. The second time travel takes the members back to January 29, 2012, Sherlock Holmes (episode 79), where the members must either eliminate the culprit or find the green cards to find the Blue Water sapphire. The culprit must eliminate the members by taking their name tag, or by finding suitcases with name tags and taking that off instead. Hao & Chao (from Gag Tonight) assists the culprit. Black cards, which are hints to who the culprit is, are left where a member is eliminated. Members who lose will double the size of their name tag for the next time travel. The third time travel takes the members back to December 25, 2011, Superpowers Best of the Best Match (episode 74), where members receive superpowers and must eliminate the other members. The superpowers are: time controller (can go back one hour once), sixth sense (be notified of its surroundings), duplicator (have three duplicates), mind controller (know what all the other superpowers are, and the first person who eliminates them is "reflected" and eliminated instead), death note (can automatically eliminate one member whenever, wherever), phoenix (have three lives, can only be eliminated by the same member once), space controller (can move all members to a designated location). The last member standing will win.[17]
- 2014 Nationwide University Students Ddakji Competition (2014 전국 대학생 딱지 대회) [Epsidoe 197] - The members must each find two students of a designated university (Chungbuk National University, Kyonggi University, Incheon National University, Chonbuk National University, Kangwon National University, Korea University, Pusan National University) to compete in ddakji. Teams travel to the first mission venue, where teams have a seven-way tug of war to grab three flags at the end. The first placing team will automatically advance to the semi-finals. Teams then proceed to make a ddakji and compete with other teams in a tournament style. Each round, teams must flip the other teams three ddakjis to win. The team to make it to the finals and win will win the 2014 Nationwide University Students Ddakji Competition.[18]
- Unbreakable Love (깨지지 않는 사랑) [Episode 198] - Seven couples must perform missions to prove their undestructable love. Each couple has one of seven "rocks" and through winning missions, must switch their rock with others for the one undestructable rock. The couple that wins the first mission (which is unaired) chooses which couple has which rock. Couples then perform the next mission, where the male members must run across hurdles, then grab the one flower bouquet hanging above acupressure mats and bring it to his partner. The other females who do not receive the bouquet will have a balloon of flour burst from above. The role is switched for the third round. The member who does so in each of the three rounds will receive an advantage. The three couples can see all the rocks and switch theirs with another couples. The second place couple receives a hint, and the first place team receives a better hint. The couples then travel to the next mission venue (a cafe), where couples choose a category and must answer quiz questions. One partner goes outside and must jump on a trampoline to reach the window of the second floor to give hints to the other partner to answer. The three couples to answer the most quizzes can switch rocks. Couples then travel to the next mission venue (a snack restaurant), where couples receive twenty pieces of tteok and use them to bet on the results of games by other couples. Betting correctly will lose those tteok, with the first three teams to lose all twenty tteok winning. One couple for each game is chosen by random, and that couple chooses the couple they want to play against. The games include: pushing over the other couple; eating a piece of pickled radish and leaving as little as possible; breaking an egg on your partner's forehead and find the raw egg. The first three teams to lose all their tteok can switch rocks and receives a hint. Couples then travel to the final mission venue to determine which rock is unbreakable. Each couple smashes their rock against other couples rocks to determine which rock is stronger, with the strongest rock winning.[19]
- Dream Cup Boot Camp Race (드림컵 극기훈련 레이스) [Episode 199] - The members and Park Ji-sung must perform missions to train for the 2014 Asian Dream Cup and earn an advantage at the next race in Indonesia. The members must successfully complete their mission within five chances to make the captain missions for Park Ji-sung easier. Successfully completing the captain missions will earn the members chance coupons for the final mission. The members travel to the first mission venue (SBS Broadcasting Center), where the members are spread out throughout the building and must each borrow a piece of clothing of a different color. Park Ji-sung meanwhile must keep kicking a jegi until the members return successfully. If he fails, the members fail as well. For the next try, the members must each find different items that start with "ㅁㅈ" while Park Ji-sung jumps rope until they return. For the third try, the members must find a citizen of each age group (10s, 20s, 30s, etc.) while Park Ji-sung keeps a ball in the air. If they succeed within five chances, the captain mission for Park Ji-sung will be easier. For the captain mission, Park Ji-sung must kick a soccer ball into a window of a car (through the windows if failed). The members then travel to the next mission venue (a field), where the members and Park Ji-sung must kick a soccer ball through an obstacle course in relay in one minute. For the captain mission, Park Ji-sung must choose the platter with the chance coupon out of five platters (out of two if mission succeeded). The members then travel to the next mission venue (a soccer field), where the members must kick four goals out of eight with two batters as goalkeeper. For the captain mission, Park Ji-sung must kick a ball through a high ring of fire (higher and smaller if failed). The members then travel to the final mission venue, where the members and Park Ji-sung face off in futsal with idol stars. Six members will participate with fifteen minutes for each half. The chance coupons earned allow Park Ji-sung to participate for five minutes each. The team who scores the most goals will win.[20]
- Dream Cup in Indonesia (드림컵 in 인도네시아) [Episode 200] - The members and Park Ji-sung travel to Indonesia to participate in the 2014 Asian Dream Cup. During the game, they must perform special missions to succeed or face a punishment. Park Ji-sung must shoot two goals. Ji Suk-jin and Song Ji-hyo must touch the ball five times. Yu Jae-suk, Gary, Haha, Kim Jong-kook and Lee Kwang-soo must help score or assist once. The next day, the members travel to Taman Safari to perform the penalty mission for one last chance to avoid the punishment. The members must choose an animal to perform a mission with within thirty minutes. The animals include: tiger: take a picture with a tiger from within the car; deer/zebra: take a picture with a deer or zebra through the car window; crocodile: untie three ribbons tied to the crocodile's tail; fur seal: kiss the seal from seven meters above water; orangutan: bounce a ball back and forth with an orangutan; snake: have one snake wrap around your waist and kiss the one around your neck; lion: comb the lion ten times; eagle: have an eagle sit on your head and roll a hulahoop three times. Members who fail the penalty mission as well will face the 200th episode special punishment, skydiving.[21]
- Country Idols vs. City Idols (농촌아이돌 vs 도시아이돌) [Episode 201] - Two teams must perform missions to earn advantages for the final mission and earn the title of Nationwide Idol. Teams travel to the first mission venue (a paddy field), where one member of the team must run across the field with the other team members as hurdles, grab the flag at the end and run back. For the next round, teams race to the flag and back in relay. The winning team can remove one member from the opposing team for the main game, "Go" Fighting, where teams must push the opposing team off the platform. The winner of each mission receives a first choice coupon. Teams then move to the next mission venue, where teams must complete three out of five missions throughout the farm. The five missions are: cleaning dishes using an old-styled water bucket to see the words on the dish and guess the phrase; place name tags on the neck of four goats; dig for 500g worth of ginseng; catch 1 kg worth of pond loach; move seven piglets to a new home. Once a mission is completed by a team, the opposing team cannot complete the same mission. Teams travel to the next mission venue (a school), where teams must find basketballs throughout the school, then use it to shoot in basketball nets with names of each member that are also spread throughout the school. Scoring in a particular net will result in that member being eliminated. Teams then travel to the final mission venue (a field), and can use their first choice coupons to choose the obstacles. Teams must relay race through obstacles and complete missions to win. At "R1", one member must carry two buckets of water to another member to fill a (big or small) jar in order to make a float fall out. However, the jars have a small hole in the bottom. At "R2", one member must run up a hill of straw to get to "R3", then one member carries a (10 kg or 20 kg) rice bag and must throw it over a stand. At "R4", one member must carry a ball or pair of shoes on a tray above their head to "R5". At "R5", one member must start a fire using flint to cook a chicken. At "R6", one member must run to the finish line. The team to complete the relay race first will win and earn the title of Nationwide Idol.[22]
- Quiz Battle (퀴즈 배틀) [Episode 202] - Five teams must perform missions to earn MC Yoo Chances for the final mission. Teams travel on a train to Gyeongju and play Quick Wit Game in the train to determine which teams can get off at the station. The losing team is stuck on the train that continues to Busan and must take the next train back. The other teams arrive at Gyeongju and must find the first mission venue using the hint given from three different locations. Teams then arrive at the first mission venue and must find the "R" flag hidden in the village. The first team to find it will receives two MC Yoo Chance Coupons. The winning team can also choose one team to give one coupon to. Teams then travel to the next mission venue, where teams must find "R" notes hidden throughout the venue which contain quizzes for MC Yoo. Teams must use only actions to explain the quiz to MC Yoo in thirty seconds, and incorrect answers will result in the team being sprayed with air. MC Yoo must correctly answer two quizzes from a team for that team to receive a MC Yoo Chance Coupon. Teams then travel to the final mission venue (BlueOne Water Park), where teams face a quiz battle. One member of each team participates at a time. For each question, the targeting team will choose the category and choose an opposing team they believe answered the question incorrectly. If the chosen team does answer incorrectly, that team member is eliminated from the quiz and is doused with water. If the chosen team answers correctly, the targeting team member is eliminated and doused with water instead. That chosen team then becomes the targeting team. (All questions and answers were earlier given to the teams to study.) The MC Yoo Chance Coupons earned can be used for help. Each team member has one gold Cheomseongdae statue, and is forfeited to the targeting team when eliminated. When two teams are remaining, the teams face off in correctly answering the questions. The team with all the gold Cheomseongdae statues will win.[23]
- One Day Tour Race (원데이 투어 레이스) [Episode 203] - As the second day in Gyeongju, eight couples have lost their memory and must take a tour and complete all of the tour schedule to reach the final venue first. One member has regained some memory through SNS, and becomes a client of a troubleshooter who helps take revenge on all the other members. Both the client and troubleshooter must successfully take off each members name tag completely, then put it back on without anyone realizing before the race ends. If they successfully complete their revenge, they receive all the prize money. The couples first travel to one of three tour venues (Silk experience, Dolhalmae Rock experience, raspberry experience). At the silk experience, one member must move ten purple silkworms to a new home while the other member must hang on a pull-up bar. At the Dolhalmae Rock experience, the couples must successfully lift a 180 kg rock on the other side of a seesaw. At the raspberry experience, the couples must find blocks of ice with raspberries inside, then break the ice to rescue the three raspberries. The couples then travel to one of two tour venues (Sojjigae restaurant, dumpling restaurant). At the sojjigae restaurant, the couples must ride a mechanical bull for the amount of the food they ordered (1,000 won = 1 sec.). One member rides at a time and must cumulate the required time together in order to eat. At the dumpling restaurant, the couples must guess what is inside the dumpling they are eating. The couples then travel to one of two tour venues (Gwiae Traditional House, art museum). At the Gwiae Traditional House, the couples play the Photo Zone Game, where the couples must jump to reach a traditional bride and grooms headpiece and show up in the picture taken. At the art museum, the couples must long jump with inked hands to mark the spot. Then the couples must travel to the final mission venue (Hwasan Elementary School), where couples must find the keys to four cars hidden throughout the schoolyard. Each of the four cars contain a prize. The first four teams to find the key and get in the car will receive that prize within. If the client and troubleshooter is able to take off all name tags and put them back on successfully before the four cars are taken, they will receive what ever prizes that are left after completing their mission.[24]
- Snow White Race (백설공주 레이스) [Episode 204] - Snow White has eaten a poisonous apple and becomes unconscious. The seven dwarfs must travel through the magic mirror into the future to find hints to the curse and the prince to save Snow White. The prince is among one of the seven dwarfs. The members travel to the first mission venue (SBS Prism Tower), where the members must find Lee Kwang-soo who is hidden somewhere in the building. The first member to find him and piggyback him back completes the mission. The remaining members then must find a "R" computer and type in "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" (in Korean) using their nose only, then print it and bring it back first. The remaining members then must find a pair of high heels and "brick handbag" and bring it back. The members will receive hints in the order they completed the mission. The members then travel to the next mission venue (Hangang Park), where the members must each jump using a pogo stick to burst seven balloons before the water-filled balloon bursts on to one member. Successfully completing the mission will reveal the secret location of the curse. The members then travel back in time through the magic mirror to the final mission venue (Petite France), where the seven dwarfs must find ways to eliminate the other dwarfs and find out who the prince is using the hints earned and bring him to Snow White. The prince is the only person that can wake Snow White with a kiss. Each dwarf has been cursed by the Witch as well, and can be eliminated by the curse. Gold nuggets can be found throughout the venue, and contain the curses that eliminate a dwarf. However, which dwarf that is is unknown. If a dwarf is eliminated, his gold nuggets are given to the dwarf that eliminated him. However, if the prince is eliminated, Snow White can no longer be woken up. However, it is revealed that Snow White is also the Witch, who must eliminate all the dwarfs to take their gold nuggets. If she can eliminate all the dwarfs first, she will win. If the dwarfs can eliminate the Witch first, they will win.[25]
- Part-Time Job Race (아르바이트 레이스) [Episoe 205] - Two teams must perform part-time jobs to earn prizes. Teams travel to the first mission venue (an amusement park), where both teams are in a room and the first member to escape the room can perform the job. The jobs include: catching three of five water balloons tossed in the air; spit five watermelon seeds to your face within thirty seconds; break three gourd bowls on your head; female arm wrestling; drink a bottle of cola in fifteen seconds and not burp five seconds after; split an apple in half using your hands. Successfully completing a job earns the team one point, but failing the job will earn the opposing team one point. The team that reaches five points first will have a choice of five of seven prizes. Two are nothing, with the two remaining prizes given to the losing team. Teams then travel to the next mission venue (a restaurant), where a member of each team must choose out of five pots and avoid the broken one. The team that chooses the broken pot will have one of their team members doused with water. The team with all members doused by water will lose. The winning team will have a choice of four of six prizes. Two are nothing, with the losing team choosing one from the remaining two. Teams then travel to the next mission venue (a warehouse), where teams play "reckless" basketball using a ball made out of newspaper. The team that scores the most points will have a choice of four of six prizes. Two are nothing, with the losing team choosing one from the remaining two. The teams then travel to the final mission venue, where teams must throw rings into a bar. If even one member fails, all the prizes earned are confiscated. The team who successfully completes the mission will receive all the prizes.[26]
- Taste Around the World (맛 세계일주) [Episode 206] - Three teams must perform missions to collect puzzle pieces for a world map, which will be used for the final mission. Teams must travel to different restaurants representing foods of each continent, and complete the missions there to earn the corresponding puzzle piece. In North America, teams must catch a piece of toast that is ejected from a toaster with their mouth. In Europe, teams must use boxing gloves to move ten beans from one plate to another, open a soda can, and fold a paper airplane. In South America, teams must raise the heart rate of one member above 160 bpm in three minutes. In Asia, ten pieces of rice noodles are stuck on one members face, with the other members needing to spray it off with a water gun. (Other continents were not aired.) A special restaurant opens and gives two teams an opportunity to earn a golden puzzle piece. Teams must jump rope twenty times while wearing swimfins. Teams then travel to the final mission venue, where teams must cook a fusion cuisine meal out of instant food only. Each puzzle piece teams have allows the team to exchange it for one instand food item. The owners of the golden puzzle piece are allowed to have one food item of their choice. The team that cooks the best instant fusion cuisine meal in thirty minutes for the judges will win.[27]
- Big Nose Brother Victory Race (왕코형님 우승 레이스) [Episode 207] - Two teams must perform missions to earn more gold bars. Each member receives one gold bar at the start of the race. Teams travel to the first mission venue (a paddy field), where three members must search for rings in the paddy field, and throw it to the other three members on a platform with a bingo board. Each ring is numbered as associated with the bingo board. The first team to get a bingo will win, best of three rounds. The winning team receives three gold bars. Teams then travel to the next mission venue (a school), where teams choose one of five games related to "100" and complete it in relay in the fastest time. The five games include: going down a slide one hundred times; catch one hundred pieces of gonggi; arm wrestle for one hundred seconds. The team that wins three games receives two gold bars, and the losing team receives one gold bar. Teams then travel to the next mission venue (a theme park), where teams play dodgeball with animal hats. Teams must protect the chosen animal king of their team, and will lose if their king is eliminated, best out of three rounds. The winning team receives three gold bars, the losing team receives two gold bars. But however when team JSJ wins a mission, they will receive the double amount of gold. The team with the most gold bars can participate in the final mission. The winning team is escorted to the final mission venue with each team member separated into different rooms. Each member has a choice between gold and money, and must all write down the same choice. If they all choose the same one (either gold or money), the team will receive double the gold bars earned. If even one member writes a different choice, the team falls beneath the stage and all the gold bars earned are confiscated and given to the losing team.[28]
- Hallyu Star Race (한류스타 레이스) [Episode 208] - Two teams must perform missions to earn chances to switch members between the teams. Teams travel to the first mission venue (a park), where teams must find cameras and secretly take pictures of the face of each member of the opposing team. The winning team of each mission will have the choice of bringing in one member of the opposing team into their team, release one member of their team to the opposing team, or keep the teams the same. Teams then travel to the next mission venue (a health club), where teams must roll a hulahoop while hanging off a pull-up bar for sixty seconds cumulatively. Teams then travel to the next mission venue (SBS Broadcasting Center), where teams must each find "R" boxes throughout the building, then bring it back for handprinting. Teams then travel to the final mission venue (Hyundai Department Store) for Bells Hide and Seek, where teams each take turns as Mission Team and Chasing Team for two rounds, and must eliminate the opposing team in the quickest time to win.[29]
- Mystery of Triangle (삼각형의 신비)[Episode 209] – Three teams must perform missions to earn points to gain an advantage at the final mission. Teams travel to the first mission venue (a pool) where a member of each team is standing at a floating board and the center and another member stand on their team’s smaller floating board. They must past the ball to the person standing in the center floating board, but the ball must be passed from the member who is on the smaller floating board. The team that score two times will be the first, after the team that score once will be the second, the team that is first will score two points, the team in second will score one point and the losing team won’t score any points. Teams then travel to the next mission venue with a sandpit, a mud pit and a water pit. First, each team will choose a member to do the nametag elimination to decide which team will advance in the final, after they will randomly choose where the all-kill style wrestling match will be, and once a whole team is eliminated, the venue of wrestling match will change, The team that score two times will be the first, after the team that score once will be the second, the team that is first will score two points, the team in second will score one point and the losing team won’t score any points. Then teams travel to the next venue (another pool) where a representative of each team each go out and choose whether to grab a rock or not and each guess how many rocks are there in total while other members are sitting on flying chairs and guessing wrong will resulting in the flying chair be ejected and a new member will be on the flying chair until everyone is eliminated, the team that remains will gain two points. Then teams travel to the final mission venue where they will have to use 5 dots and 7 lines to draw 9 triangles, and different hints will be given to each team according how much points they earned. The team that solves the triangle mystery first wins.
- 2014 Big Seven Alkkagi Challenge (2014 빅 세븐 알까기 도전)[Episode 210] – Running man members will each have to look for a guest to participate in an Alkkagi match. And after, they can invite the other fans to watch. A game was played before the final competition (unaired), where the winning team can directly enter the semi-finals. Before the competition starts, the fans can guess which team will be the winner. After, the alkkagi match starts, where two teams at a time will face off in three rounds, best in two rounds and the teams can choose who to participate in which round and each round every member has 5 alkkagi. The winning teams will move on until the final team left wins and fans who guessed the correct winning team receives a gold bar.
- 1470 [Episode 211-212] Seven teams must perform missions in order to get numbers and mathematical signs to turn 1470 in to 0. Guests from each team will first say a number from 1-9, the amount that the number was chosen is the amount of minutes for the member and the guest to look for each other and get to a 'R' flag. Teams who succeed receive a plus sign while teams who fail receive a minus sign. After, seven teams will perform seven different missions in order to get more numbers. Missions include: Snapping photos of particular on a rollercoaster ride, unlock the code of a padlock during a sky-drop ride by looking at items placed below, eating persimmons hanging from a gat while sitting on a spinning wheel, score 90 marks in singing karaoke during a roller-coaster ride, figure out the word written on the bottoms of their feet during a twisty ride, ride the Viking while holding a pair of water balloons between their raised arms and face and conserve as much of their full glasses of water as possible by the end of their own amusement ride. Teams who succeed in first try receive nine numbers, seven numbers at second try, five numbers at third try, and three numbers after. After teams will hold a piggyback race, where there is a curtain separating team members, and they can switch spots. After, the curtains drop, the member in front must carry the member in back to the finish line even if it is not their teammates, two rounds are held on total. Teams who win can choose a number of their choice. After teams arrive the final mission venue where they will be locked in the landmark and all previously earned numbers and signs will be given to them. They can either look for new number signs in the mission venue or steal from other teams. After 30 minutes, teams can go outside to the mission venue, once they are outside, they are safe. Then teams must turn 1470 into 0. Teams who succeed will win and will be extempt from the Taiwan punishment. Teams who fail must go to Taiwan to face the punishment and do the mission. The mission is to look at two numbers while riding the scary ride and answer questions related to two numbers where everyone must answer correctly in order to clear the mission.
- Second Generation male heir [Episode 213](두 번째 세대 남성 상속인) Six teams must perform missions in order to know who the second generation male heir is. In every mission, the first three teams's female will receive a hint of who the heir is, and can switch teams that won't be revealed until the final mission. Teams first must travel to the first mission venue, the three fastest teams will receive a hint. After, in the first mission, there is a platform in the middle of red mud. Teams will start with the female member on the platform, after the mission starts, teams will have to push each other off until one team is left. (After, teams who have members that failed to go on the platform in 100 seconds will be eliminated, and the mission changed to having both members holding hands and stand up). In the second mission, teams have 30 seconds of time to destroy scripts using a paper shredder in order to succeed. But if they act out drams scenes perfectly, they will have additional time. In the final mission, new teams will be distributed according to how the female members swapped. Then teams will have to look for male member's name tag which were distributed through the venue, once someone found a name tag, male member will have to stick in on their back, and other teams can steal the name tag by ripping it off. The team that found the heir's name tag and have both members standing on the platform wins. However, going on the platform with others name tag won't work.
- R Pop Survival Audition [Episode 214](R 팝 서바이벌 오디션) Two teams must perform missions in order to survive to the final mission venue. In each mission, the losing team will have to vote for a person being eliminated from the team and can't participate in the remaining missions. Teams first have to tie each other together and run through a lap of acupressure mat with obstacles. The member in front at each team must rip the name tag of the opposing team's last member to win a round, best of three rounds. After, teams travel to the third mission venue (second mission is not aired), where they will combine music and sports with olympic sports player. The first game is dancing around while the music plays, and once the music ends, they need to try to block as many shots of handballs from Im Oh-Kyung as they can out of five shots. The second game is listening to Woo Ji-won sing a beginning of a song and guess what the song is, for each answer they got correct, Woo Ji-won can shoot a 3-point goal for that team, the team that score more wins. The last game is having a 1 vs 5 match of badminton against Kim Dong-moon and score as much as they can in five shots. Best of two games. Finally, survivors travel to the final mission where they have one hour of time to change the lyrics of the given song and perform as audition. Later, it is revealed that the eliminated members will become judges. After performance, the judges give a score to the teaks and the team that got the highest point will win and then the winning team will have to choose one judge to be exempt from punishment and the other judges will be poured by flour.
- Marriage Race [Episode 215] (결혼 인종) Firstly, the groom and bride must act as a team and have to eliminate all family members in given time, otherwise, the surviving family members can be the groom. After, everyone will have to work as a team to gain a chance to read a chance card. Missions include, having six people work as three pairs to eat noodles on both sides and leave 3 cm on total, having Shin Min-a to score 90 in a karaoke and having two people work as a pair and answer 3 questions as the same in three chances. For each mission they succeed, they can choose and open a chance card out of five chance cards to try and get the chance card with money. Finally, teams travel to the final mission where they are separated in Groom's family and Bride's family. They will have to find furniture with R stickers in order to link a line on the marriage board but only the bride and groom knows where the position of furniture is. Once they find a furniture with a R sticker they have to bring it to a certain place in order for the furniture to count. The team that links a line first wins, and the bride/groom can choose to keep the prize for himself/herself, or share the prize with his love or his family.
- Running Heroes [Episode 216] (영웅 실행) Running heroes will have to perform missions, to gain hints of where the final mission venue is. First, each running hero will have to finish their own good deed and go to a certain place in the assigned time. Good deeds include: Look for a person in a large area, help children to be a one-day teacher, help a couple to guide their car out of the parking lot, help a cook to make a cake, find money envelope in books, look for a document in a large area of ground and dig a coin under a vending machine. If one member failed, then the Running heroes will choose one member to not receive the hint. After that, Running heroes will have to walk along a wooden plank to get from one building to another, and they will fail if they give up. In actual fact, they never left the building. The wooden plank was on the ground of one building and not suspended between the two buildings as the Running heroes were led to think. Members that do not give up can get the hint. Next, heroes will have to work as a team and have to do a relay against the bus, between two bus stops. If they succeed, different ranking of 'up', 'medium', 'low' will be given randomly. Then, running heroes will have to guess where the final mission venue is, heroes that guessed correct will travel together while heroes that guessed wrong will travel together. Finally, running heroes will have to work together and find 6 chairs with 'R' stickers and let all 7 members to sit down, if they succeed, they can get their powers back.

- Photo Zone Game (포토존 게임) [Episode 1,2,5,7,53,94,115,154, 203] - Teams must appear in a designated area with their faces showing when a photo is taken.[30][31]
- Bells Hide and Seek (방울 숨바꼭질) [Episode 7–25,76,84,85,104,115,169,171,172,208] - Bells Hide and Seek is a shortened version of the race mission. A "chasing" team wearing bells must catch the "mission" team by taking their name tags from their backs in an allotted time. The "mission" team will need to find hidden items in the landmark and not be caught by the "chasing" team before the allotted time ends.[32]
