This is a list of bus routes operated by the San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans) primarily in San Mateo County of the San Francisco Bay Area, in the state of California.

Notes:

A San Francisco Stops Restriction applies to routes operating into and out of San Francisco (indicated with a †)
- Northbound (from San Mateo County): Samtrans cannot pick up northbound passengers at San Francisco stops
- Southbound (to San Mateo County): Passengers boarding in San Francisco may not disembark in San Francisco
NB - northbound, SB - southbound
Sunday service is run during most holidays.

Express bus line

SamTrans operates one Express line which operates between San Mateo County and Downtown San Francisco. Express Service is operated every day including holidays.

Airport stops are in Courtyard A (one level below the arrivals level in the International Terminal), on the inner loop of the arrivals level between Terminals 1 and 2, on the inner loop of the arrivals level in front of Terminal 3, and in Courtyard G (one level below the arrivals level in the International Terminal). Passengers can access the San Francisco International Airport BART station using the Courtyard G stop. Until 2013, passengers with luggage were prohibited from traveling on the express portion of the route. This policy arose from a lawsuit filed in the 1970s by a private shuttle service called San Francisco Airporter, which sued SamTrans on the grounds that SamTrans' public subsidy gave it an unfair competitive advantage. Although San Francisco Airporter was sold in 2001 and ceased operating its airport service in 2006, the luggage ban remained in place. SamTrans finally lifted the luggage ban effective June 1, 2013, after receiving clearance to do so from the Federal Transit Administration.^[1] San Francisco terminal is at the southwest corner of Main Street and Folsom Street, just outside the Temporary Transbay Terminal.
