List of South Park episodes
South Park is an American animated television sitcom created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone for Comedy Central. The series originated from a pair of animated shorts titled The Spirit of Christmas, and the first episode of South Park originally aired on August 13, 1997 on Comedy Central. Intended for mature audiences, the show has become infamous for its crude language and dark, surreal humor that lampoons a wide range of topics. The story revolves around four boys—Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Eric Cartman, and Kenny McCormick—and their bizarre adventures in and around the eponymous Colorado town.
Since its debut on August 13, 1997,[1] South Park has broadcast 277 episodes, and its twentieth season premiered on September 14, 2016. South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut, a feature-length film, was released in theaters on June 30, 1999 and grossed over US$83 million worldwide.[2] In 2007, Comedy Central celebrated the show's tenth anniversary with Imaginationland: The Movie.[3][4][5] On its fifteenth anniversary, Comedy Central released 6 Days to Air: The Making of South Park on October 9, 2011.[6] South Park: The Stick of Truth, a video game released in 2014 received positive reviews from critics.[7] A sequel titled South Park: The Fractured but Whole, will be released in 2017.[8]
Episodes of South Park have been nominated for a variety of different awards, including 3 Annie Awards (with one wins),[9] 2 Critics' Choice Television Award (with zero wins),[10] 17 Emmy Awards (with five wins),[11] 3 TCA Awards (with zero wins),[12] and received a Peabody Award.[13] Several compilation DVDs have been released. In addition, the first nineteen seasons have been released on DVD and Blu-ray, and are available for Regions 1, 2 and 4 as of September 2016.[14][15][16][17]
As of November 30, 2016, 277 episodes of South Park have aired. Currently airing the twentieth season, the show remains Comedy Central's highest rated program and second-longest-running, behind The Daily Show. Comedy Central has renewed South Park through 2019, bringing the show to 23 seasons.[18][19][20]

The Spirit of Christmas: "Jesus vs. Frosty" | December 8, 1992 | N/A
The idea for South Park originated in 1992 when Trey Parker and Matt Stone, students at the University of Colorado, met in a film class. The two created a low-budget, crudely made, Christmas-related animated short, often called "Jesus vs. Frosty". The film featured prototypes of the main characters of South Park, including Cartman, Stan, Kyle and Kenny.[181]

[...] near the end of the show [...] a video came on featuring Comedy Central's "South Park" crew as the rocking "Lil' Rush." The cartoon characters launched into a version of "Tom Sawyer" and sounded pretty good, until Cartman — dressed up like Lee — started singing lines that referenced Mark Twain's other famous character, Huckleberry Finn. / "I'm Geddy Lee," Cartman said, unrepentant as always. "I will sing whatever lyrics I want."
