List of active Bangladesh military aircraft

Active Bangladesh military aircraft is a list of military aircraft that are used by the Bangladesh Armed Forces. For aircraft no longer in-service see List of historic aircraft of the Bangladesh Air Force. Around 80 more aircraft and 5 Mil Mi-17 was destroyed by devastating 1991 Bangladesh cyclone.

RAC MiG is negotiating with Bangladesh government for upgrading the 8 Mig-29 into Mig-29SMT. BAF is also working to procure 8 more upgraded Mig-29 SMT from Russia.[2] According to unofficial sources, BAF may procure 8 more upgraded Mig-29 SMT from Russia.

16 F-7BGI received in 2013 as a stop-gap aircraft. Will be replaced by 4.5 generation aircraft.[3] 1 F-7MB crashed in 2015.
Lockheed C-130 Hercules  USA Special Ops B 4 Four Additional C-130 is expected to enter service.[4]
Antonov An-32  Russia Tactical transport/Bomber C 3 Converted to use as bomber.
L-410 Turbolet  Czech Republic Transport Trainer 3 Received from Czech Republic on 27 May 2015.[5]
Yak-130  Russia Lead in Fighter Trainer 16 6 delivered. Delivery will be completed in 2016.
Hongdu K-8  China Advanced Jet Trainer W 9
Aero L-39 Albatros  Czechoslovakia Advanced Jet Trainer ZA 7 A total of 8 aircraft delivered. 1 aircraft crashed in 2012.
Nanchang CJ-6  China Primary Trainer 24 BAF will get 12 new Nanchang PT-6s to replace the fleet soon.[6]
Helicopters
Mil Mi-171 Sh  Russia Close air support, Combat transport Mi-171 Sh 10 3 joined in 2010 and 3 more joined in 2013.[7] 5 Mi-171sh were ordered in April 2014[8] and delivered in 2015.[9] One helicopter crashed on 13 May 2015.[10] 5 more ordered in 2015.[11]
