PNS Azmat was commissioned on April 23, 2012. PNS Dehshat, built indigenously in Pakistan by Karachi Shipyard was commissioned on June 13, 2014.

Third Ship has been launched on September 17, 2016 under sea trial, while fourth one is under construction at KSEW.[4]

The first submarine of the class, PNS Khalid, was built entirely in France. The second submarine, PNS Saad, had some parts built in France, which were then shipped to Pakistan, and completed there, with the help of French engineers. The third submarine, PNS Hamza, was built and assembled entirely in Pakistan. These submarines are an improved version of the Agosta-class submarine, with greater battery life, diving depth, and lower noise signature

One of the Agosta 90 B submarine is currently having modernization in KSEW under the assistance and expertise of Turkish firm STM and expected to be delivered in 4 to 5 months. The other two subs will be upgraded in next year.
