Lithuania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Düsseldorf, Germany, selecting their entry through a series of semifinals and a televised national final.[1] This was the country's twelfth participation in the contest.[2]

Participation

On 12 November, LRT announced that a final decision about the participation in Düsseldorf is expected to be made by 26 November. Lithuanian Head of Delegation Audrius Girzadas said, that the likelihood for Lithuania to participate in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest "is 90%".[3] LRT confirmed its participation on 24 November.[4]

National Selection

On 24 November, LRT will internally select some of the submitted entries to participate in the national selection process.

Although a total number of 70 songs were received by the Lithuanian national broadcaster (LRT), a special jury selected 44 of them to advance to the next phase of the selection. Three pre-recorded semi finals will be aired on 5, 12 and 19 February. From each of the heats, three songs will qualify for the big final through a combination of jury and televoting. The line-up of the final will be completed by five wild card from LRT and one from the website zebra.lt.[5]
