Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011
Israel participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Düsseldorf, Germany, selecting their entry through the national selection Kdam Eurovision, organised by the Channel 1 (owned by IBA).
Kdam Eurovision 2011
In November 2010, Israeli broadcaster IBA revealed some of its plans for the 2011 national selection, which returned to Channel 1, after being out of their hands last year.[1]
On 28 December 2010, IBA announced that several artists would participate in the Kdam in order to represent Israel in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest. IBA opened the call for artists to submit their entries. The final aired on 8 March. It took place in the Culture Hall in Rishon LeZion.[2][3]
During the next few days, IBA made a list of potential artists that would be offered to take part in the selection. Furthermore, artists who matched the conditions would be able to submit themselves too. The artists were asked to submit 2-3 songs to the committee, who chose 8-12 songs and singers in total to take part in the Kdam.[4]
On 8 February, IBA announced the finalists of the 2011 Kdam:[5]
