M. I. Shanavas (s/o Advocate Ibrabim Sahib, born 1952) is an Indian Politician and is a Member of Parliament of the 16th Lok Sabha of India.
He represents the Wayanad constituency[1] and is a member of the Indian National Congress. He has been a member of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee since 1983.[1] He won the 2009 Lok Sabha election from Wayanad.[1] He entered politics through the Kerala Students Union, worked in the Youth Congress and Seva Dal. He was one of three leaders who rebelled against senior Congress leader K. Karunakaran and formed a third group. He has also been re-elected in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. APM Mohd Haneesh IAS is his son in law.
