Madnur or Madnoor is a village in Nizamabad district in the state of Telangana in India.[1]
Geography
Madnur or madnoor is located at 18°30′00″N 77°38′00″E / 18.5000°N 77.6333°E.[2] It has an average elevation of 374 meters (1230 feet). This village is the Administrative Headquarters for Madnur mandal of Nizamabad district of Telangana state. Madnur is located on state highway 104 Hyderabad to Nagpur. This state route links it to Maharashtra. The village is situated at the Maharashtra and the Karnataka border and Kannada.
Languages
As the village is situated in Telangana State every one is able to speak in Telugu language but apart of telugu most of the people are also speak Kannada & Marathi language due to border area.
Schools
There are separate high school for Girls & Boys and some other Primary school are also running by the State Government. Apart of this there are one Residential School and Junior College is also running in the village. Further, some private school are also running in the village viz; Vasavi Public School & karmel Public School
Tourism
Many temples are located in Madnoor village like., Balaji Temple, Hanuman Temple, Santhoshi Matha mandir, Saibaba Temple, Somalingal, Nagareshwar Mandir, Pochamma Temple etc., another famous temple is located nearby Madnoor village i.e., Mirzapur Hanuman Temple, the devotes are come here from Marahashtra, Karnataka & Telangana state for visit, on occasion of Hanuman Jayathi an Jathara will be conduct for (3) days.
Occations
On the eve of Dhashera all villagers are gather at Hills of Pochamma Temple where "Ravana Dhahana" is to be takenup by the village elders, then every one visit each others homes by giving "Jambhi leafs" by treating them as gol. Further, on eve of Ugadhi every one exchange special liquid soup called as "Payasam" and on the eve of Sankranthi every one go to their agriculture fields and make pooja and kids will ply with kites later at night every one goes to another ones home and distribute Sweet which is called as "Nuvvulu".
Offices
Beofore formation of Mandals, Madnoor is an erstwhile samithi head quarter of Jukkal Samithi. At present various Government officer are there like MPDO Office, Tahsil Office, Gram Panchayat, Agriculture Market Committee, MEO Office, Police Station, Veterinary dispensary, Primary Health Center, Child & Women Development Agency, Asst.Social Welfare Office etc.,
Agriculture
Most of the agriculture lands are black soiled land, and the main crop for farmers is Cotton, millet, Soybean,green gram and black gram.
Factories
As the village is a cotton production village, lot of cotton factories are established in the nearby village and most of all peoples & farmers will get employment in these factories which is backbone of the village.
