Majholi is a town and a nagar panchayat in Jabalpur district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[1] Majholi had a population of 11,308. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Majholi has an average literacy rate of 65%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 75%, and female literacy is 54%. In Majholi, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Tourism
Majour attraction of tourism in Majholi is Vishnu-Varaha Temple in Majholi. It is one ancient temple which has an elephant size Varaha statue and in front of Varaha statue, Adi Narayan (Shri Vishnu) sitting in Yogasana. Behind Adi Narayan, Sheshnag (Snake) is sitting between front legs of Varaha. Behind, Sheshnag, there is wife of Sheshnag. All 4 vedas are underneath four legs of Varaha as told by Priest. Many other ancient statues are fixed HERE in sanctum wall, such as Ganesh, Kali, Hanuman which tells the story that original temple must have been grand and rich in heritage.
