Manohar Lal Chibber (born 1927) is an Indian Army personnel and writer, known for his involvement in the Siachen conflict of 1986.[1] He held the position of a Lieutenant General in the Indian Army and is a recipient of the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal.[2] Holder of a doctoral degree in Leadership and a recipient of the Jawaharlal Nehru Fellowship, Chibber is a director of the Management Development Institute, a centre of higher training for the Indian Administrative Service officers and corporate leaders.[1] He is the author of several books on military and leadership, viz. Pakistan's Criminal Folly in Kashmir,[3] Military Leadership to Prevent Military Coup,[4] Soldier's Role in National Integration,[5] Leadership in the Indian Army during eighties and nineties,[6] History of Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry,[7] Para Military Forces[8] National Service For Defence, Development And National Integration Of India[9] and Sai Baba's Mahavakya on Leadership.[10] The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan, in 1986, for his contributions to society.[11]
