Al-Mawaddah Mosque (Arabic: 'مسجد المودة Malay: Masjid Kasih Sayang) is a mosque located in Sengkang, Singapore, at the junction of Sengkang East Road and Compassvale Bow. It opened in 2009.

Etymology

The name is derived from the Arabic word, مودة which literally means affectionate; given by the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore(MUIS). The name was taken from the Quran Surah Ar-Rum verse 21:

"And among His Signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that ye may dwell In tranquillity with them, and He has put love and Mercy between your (hearts): Verily In that are Signs for those who reflect."

This mosque was built under Phase 4 of the Mosque Building Fund programme to cater to the large demographic of young families in the Buangkok and Sengkang area. Aside from its numerous family friendly features for the young and the old, it also boasts a number of environmentally friendly features that are energy-conserving. Due to this mosque has attained the Greenmark Certification (2009 & 2011) from the Building and Construction Authority.[1]

The open-to-all concept and "Family Friendly" theme proposed by the mosque promises various programmes and facilities to enhance community bonding among the different races and families across the different age groups.[2]

The location of the mosque makes it easy for the mosque to serve residents from Sengkang, Hougang and Punggol furthermore it is intended to serve praying needs for approximately 4,000 people at peak periods.

And we are located 300m away from Buangkok MRT station (a 5 mins walk) and 400m away from Renjong LRT station.
