Mir Chakar Khan Rind, Mir Shakar Khan Rind, Meer Chaakar Khan Rind or Chakar The Great, Chakar-i-Azam (1468–1565[1]) (Balochi: میر چاکَر حان رِند) was a Baloch chieftain in the 16th century. He is considered a folk hero of the Baloch people and an important figure in the Baloch epic Hani and Sheh Mureed.
History
Mir Chakar Rind lived near Sibi and became the head of Rind tribe at the age of 18 after the death of his father Mir Shahak Khan Rind. Mir Chakar's fiefdom was short-lived because of a civil war between the Lashari and Rind tribes of Balochistan.[2] Mir Chakar Rind, head of the Rind tribe, went to war that resulted in thousands dead, The war and the gallantry of the two tribe leaders continues to be a part of the Baloch peoples' history. After the "Thirty Years' War" against the Lashari Tribe,.[3] Mir Chakar Rind defeated the Lasharis and then left Balochistan and settled in the Punjab region in 1518. Mir Chakar was a very brave man. He only wanted to make Baloch tribe powerful so that in future the success will kiss their toes. When Mir chakar left sibi. His next stop was Sanghar Desert. He ruled the Sanghar area for many years. No one could defeat Mir Chakar and his army. Then a man appeared with his Army. -Mir Doda Khan. In some books it is said that he was a pathan and in some it is said he was a Baloch. Although his descendants are now called Dodai Baloch. Although Mir Chakar had defeated Mir Doda once before. Mir Doda was badly injured when a very old man helped him. That man was Jakhrani . Mir Doda's body was freezed. As the man was smart he asked his daughter to sleep with Mir Doda so that his body temperature become Normal. After that the girl was married to Mir Doda. Then Mir Doda planned and attacket Chakar again. Mir Doda Khan defeated Mir chakar at the desert of Sanghar. After that Mir Chakar and his army left Sanghar and moved to Multan area. He shaked hand with Multan King. And on the other side Shehmureed was gone to Saudia Arab. After Sheh mureed one of his best fighters was Mir Malagh Khan Rind.
It is said that Mir Malagh khan sword weighted 75 kg. No one but only Mir Malagh could handle it.
Mir Qaiser Khan. He was one of the best fighters of Mir Chakar. Moreover, Mir Sanjar Khan and Mir Mandar Khan were also one of his best fighters. Mir Chakar and Multan king then planned to conquer Delhi(India). Multan King asked Mir chakar's help and Mir Chakar gave him his best fighters. The Lashkar was led by Mir Malagh Khan and Mir Qaiser Khan. They went and they conquered Delhi. The Delhi King said" There was not a single nail uncovered of the Baloch. There head could reach the glaring sun. They were united, They were Brave!" On the other side. Mir Doda was gaining power. His grandsons Mir Ghazi khan and Mir Ismail khan were his best fighters. The Dera Ghazi khan and Dera Ismail Khan district of Pakistan are named by these two. Multan king invited Mir Doda to dinner. When Mir Doda came multan king said that from now on you are my Left hand. Mir Chakar couldn't handle this. He was very angry. He planned to attack Mir Doda. When Mir Chakar attacked Mir Doda. Mir Doda was badly defeated and his people and his army moved to Sindh and never came back.
Near the desert of sanghar he build 100 houses where some of his family members lived. He named that place (SowKar) also written as SOKAR. This place is still located near the sanghar desert and comes in Tehsil Taunsa, District Dera Ghazi Khan. Mir Malagh Khan also lived their as he was the Best fighter of Mir Chakar. Malghani Balochs are the descendants of this great man. Now Sokar is the Hometown of Malghani Baloch Tribe.
Mir Chakar then Settled in Satghara and gained power and respect in the area. Sher Shah Suri Sent a message to Mir Chakar to unite with him to consolidate his gains. Mir Chakar appreciated the offer but refused to help Sher Shah Suri. Under the command of his son, Mir Shahdad Khan, his forces instead joined the Mughal army of Emperor Humayun in 1555 after a long exile in Persia. Emperor Humayun came back, recaptured Delhi, and ousted the Suri dynasty in 1556. As a reward, Emperor Humayun conferred a vast Jagir, including horses and slaves, to Mir Chakar. He ruled this territory until he died in 1565. People who accompanied Mir Chakar to Satghara after leaving Balochistan constructed a tomb for his body.
Today
Many members of Mir Chakar's tribe still live in Satghara, Okara District.The Chief of the tribe is Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind.[4][5] They live in southern Punjab to this day and speak Sulemani Balochi ; they still exert considerable influence in the daily affairs of the district.
Some Members Mir Chakar's tribe live in(Rind Jada) Kahror Pakka District Lodhran.
The Rind tribe is one of oldest and largest Baloch tribes.
