Loyd "Mooseman" Robert III was an American heavy metal, punk rap and world music bassist. He is best remembered for his tenure in the band Body Count. He also played with Iggy Pop, including Beat 'Em Up as a member of The Trolls. He also played with Onojee and Bhava Hari. He received awards in association with the bands he played with such as gold records with Ice-T Body Count and the Hawaii Music Awards for Best World Music with Bhava Hari. He was killed in a random shooting in front of a hardware store in South Central, Los Angeles on February 22, 2001. Born in Bernice, Louisiana to Nina and Loyd Robert Jr. He went to Crenshaw High School where he played in the band. His instrument of choice was bass guitar but he was very talented and could play almost any instrument he picked up. He travelled the world to share his music and love of life. He was known for his many good deeds and shared his wealth and joys with everyone he came in contact with. He was survived by his daughter Shanell. His mother, father, brother and two sisters.
