Nanasipau'u, (née Nanasipauʻu Vaea; born 8 March 1954) is the Queen consort of Tupou VI (and his second cousin),[2] who ascended the throne as the King of Tonga in 2012.

Early life

Hon. Nanasipauʻu Vaea is the daughter of the Baron Vaea, a former Prime Minister of Tonga from 1991 to 2000, and Baroness Tuputupu Vaea.[3] She has six siblings:

She was married at the Chapel Royal in Nukuʻalofa on 11 December 1982 to Tupou VI and the couple have three children:[4]
