Natasha Suri is an Indian Supermodel and former Miss India World. In 2006 she won the prestigious Femina Miss India World title and placed in the top 17 semifinals in the Miss World 2006 contest in Poland. Suri places in the 'Top Models' bracket in India. She is also a TV Host as well as a live events host. She has now forayed into Bollywood as an actor.

Career

In the Miss World 2006 contest, Suri placed in the top 3 in the "Best Body" competition amongst 120 contenders and in top 5 in the talent round. She also won the "Best Designer Gown" award there. In Miss India 2006, she won the "Miss Beautiful Smile" and "Miss Personality" categories. She has also won several other contests like the Navy Queen, Miss Maharashtra, and Get Gorgeous-1 on Channel V(National supermodel hunt).

Suri debuted as a fashion model at Rome Fashion Week, subsequently modelling at Dubai Fashion Week, Sri Lanka Fashion Week, India Fashion Weeks(Delhi) and Lakme Fashion Weeks(Mumbai) for 5 seasons each. In all she has modelled for over 600 fashion shows and hosted over 100 live events. She was awarded the "Pillar of Hindustani Society Award" in 2008 for her achievements in the fashion industry.

She has shot for several top fashion designer campaigns for Tarun Tahiliani, Rohit Bal, Ritu Kumar, Hemant Trevedi and many more as well as several print ads like Tanishq, Ponds,Snickers,Diet Coke,Gesture jeans etc.

As a photographic model she has been on several magazine covers, product endorsements, and the face of prestigious print campaigns. She was discovered and photographed by ace lensman Atul Kasbekar for the annual Canon Calendar as one of the 'Most Beautiful Faces of 2006'. Atul described Natasha in the calendar as a goddess with the perfect hour glass body having the most amazing waistline in the country.

Suri is a now a popular TV Host too having hosted more than a dozen shows. She first hosted the TV show Cell Guru on NDTV India and a luxury and lifestyle show Velvet. She then hosted the successful show Big Switch in season -3 with ace film director Rohit Shetty as her co-host. She hosted another successful reality show SuperDude' on UTV Bindass. She hosts her own style and fashion based show Style Police on UTV Bindass. She has Co-hosted Lady Gaga's exclusive interview for UTV Bindass with Shahrukh Khan at the first ever Indian Grand Prix.

She was a celebrity contestant on the reality show Zor Ka Jhatka (Indian version of the popular waterbased adventure show Wipeout) hosted by Shahrukh Khan.She also participated in the reality show Big Switch (season-1), hosted by actress Genelia D'Souza.

She was appointed Tourism Ambassador of Mauritius in 2007, receiving the 'Friends of Mauritius' accolade from the country's Deputy Prime Minister. In 2006 the President of Sri Lanka felicitated her for her role as an Indian ambassador during her tenure as Miss India. In 2012, she was invited as the guest of honour and felicitated at the Seychelles India National parade by the Seychelles government.

Suri was born and bred in Mumbai and took a bachelor's degree course in Business management at Jai Hind College in Mumbai, receiving the "Jai Hind Achievers" alumnus trophy in 2008. She has two sisters: Rupali Suri (Model/Anchor/Actress) who won the Gladrags MegaModel contest in 2006, and Soniya Suri. Ethnically she has half Punjabi and half Telugu roots.
