Nenad Peruničić (Cyrillic: Ненад Перуничић; 1 May 1971 in Pljevlja, Montenegro) is a Serbian retired handball player and a handball manager of Serbian Handball Superleague giant RK Red Star Belgrade. He is generally considered to be one of the greatest handball players of all time.
Career
Nenad Peruničić began at RK Jugović. He received his first professional contract with RK Red Star Belgrade. 1993 moved to PSG Handball, but a year later to Spanish Liga ASOBAL club Irún Bidasoa. Here in 1995 he succeeded his international breakthrough, winning the EHF Champions League and was voted the best player in the Liga ASOBAL. Here he also got his nickname "El Conquistador" ("The Conqueror") and "Terminator" by the Serbian TV reporter Srđan Knežević. He also won the Basques still the Copa del Rey 1996 and the EHF Cup Winner's Cup 1997. Then it pulled the 2.03 meter left back in the German Bundesliga for THW Kiel and in 1998, 1999 and 2000 league and cup as well as the 1998 EHF Cup won. In 2000 he moved again to the final of the EHF Champions League, defeated there but the FC Barcelona . In 2001 he moved to league rivals SC Magdeburg. With the same club he won again in 2002 the EHF Champions League and EHF Club Championship . Nenad Peruničić has 141 caps for the Serbian-Montenegrin and Yugoslav national team contested. With the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, he won just as in the European Handball Championship 1996 in Spain Bronze as in the Handball World Championship for Men in 1999 in Egypt. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, he was fourth with Serbia-Montenegro. Since 2002 Oleg Kuleshov and Grzegorz Tkaczyk already played two foreigners at the SC Magdeburg, Peruničić has since October 2002, the German citizenship; However, by national coach Heiner Brand is not appointed to the DHB selection.
After his playing career, he took charge as manager of Serbian giant RK Red Star Belgrade.
