He claimed that he does not want to give up in movie and will never do so.[10] In his self-introduction in the column of Mocking Jer in Ming Pao, he affirmed that what he wanted to do in the past was making movie, what he is doing now can be counted as making movie, and what he wants to do in the future is making movie as well.[11] In addition, during an interview with So Lai-Shan Cecilia in STANDNEWS, he compared movie to his eyes. He said that he can see this world through movie and this is a world that he wants to dedicate to.[12]
Political views
Yau did not have any interests in political issue until the protest initiated by Scholarism happened in 2012. During Umbrella Revolution which took place in 2014, his disappointment in the government policies triggered him to found an political satire group on YouTube named Mocking Jer in December 2014.
Due to his anti-communism view, Yau showed his anger and desperation towards the government by making videos with young actors. His actions have been intended to promote his political view to citizens, especially adolescents.
Although Yau has been threatened that his actions might do harms to his career as an actor, he does not bow down to the authority and continue to promote his views as the founder of Mocking Jer and an actor.[13]

Political satire group (Mocking Jer)
Yau had zero interest in politics when he was young, however, the protest against National Education (2012) changed him. Yau was unhappy with what he saw as unpopular government policies, so he decided to do something about it. After Occupy Central (2014), Yau founded the political satire group Mocking Jer in December 2014. The group works with young actors and dancers to make videos on Youtube to show their frustration with the government. The performers and other members want to help educate other young people about politics in Hong Kong. The group already has more than 30,000 subscribers and has caught the attention of 100 Most Magazine founder Lin Ri Xi, a local artist and supporter of Occupy Central. However, Yau has been warned that his political views will hurt his future career, but he believes in the message and importance of Mocking Jer.[21]
Related Issue
Yau appeared in the fourth episode of a TV programme by RTHK named “Who Am I” (Fourth episode: Am I boy god/ girl god?).[22] It aroused a lot of public awareness about the conditions for ideal spouse. There is an election of boy god between two candidates by 13 women. One of the candidates is Neo Yau, while the other is Lau Ming-Wai. There are three rounds of the election. In the first two rounds, the women have to make decisions after having conversations with the two candidates only. In the first and second round, Neo Yau got more votes which are 7 votes and 11 votes respectively. However, in the third round which the women can see the appearance of the two candidates, the voting result changed. The votes of Neo Yau decreased from 11 to 6. Neo Yau said, “the only difference between Mr Lau and me is our background, I am not as rich as Mr Lau.”[23] In fact, Lau Ming-Wai is the son of Hong Kong billionaire, Lau Luen Hung. One of the women that changed her mind said “ After seeing their faces, the package of Lau-Ming Wai is better.” They raised the argument about Hong Kong girls are looking at background such as wealth when choosing boyfriend, saying that they are mammonist. Thus, some members of the society think that the women appeared in the show is a kind of representative of Hong Kong women, showing the value of money worship in “Kong Girls Culture”.[24]
