Nikodimos Papavasiliou (Greek: Νικόδημος Παπαβασιλείου; born 31 August 1970) is a Cypriot manager and former football midfielder.

He was the first Cypriot to play in the FA Premier League. He was manager of Cypriot club Ermis Aradippou.

Club career

In August 1993 he signed for Newcastle United for £120,000 from OFI Crete, making him the first Cypriot to play in the FA Premier League.[2] He made his Newcastle debut against Tottenham on 14 August 1993. He went on to play for two seasons at the club before returning to OFI Crete.

He also played for Apollon Limassol, Anorthosis Famagusta, Olympiakos Nicosia, APOEL and Cyprus national football team.[3]

Managerial career

He holds the English UEFA A Licence and also the UEFA Pro Licence.

He was the manager for APEP Pitsilia, Olympiakos Nicosia, OFI Crete, Doxa Katokopia, Enosis Neon Paralimni and in 2012 managed again for the third time Olympiakos Nicosia.

On 20 September 2012, Papavasiliou became manager of Apollon Limassol, for whom he had played from 1996 to 2000.

On 21 August 2015 Papavasiliou became manager of Slovan Bratislava, In Slovan Bratislava he had a great win record of 67 win ratio. He fired after the 3rd game of the 16/17 season "[4]
