Oleksii Anatoliyovych Gai (sometimes transliterated Hai or Gay) (Ukrainian: Олексій Анатолійович Гай; born 6 November 1982 in Zaporizhzhya, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian footballer who plays for FC Kuban Krasnodar. Also he played for the Ukrainian national team since 2002.

Career

He made a political statement when in 2014 he refused to wear the "Glory to the Ukrainian Army" shirt which was imposed on all football players by the Ukraine Football Association.^[1]

On 5 January 2015, Gai signed an 18-month contract with Azerbaijan Premier League side Gabala FK.^[2]

On 5 August 2016, Gai signed a two-year contract with Russian National League side Kuban Krasnodar.^[3]
