Pallivasal (പള്ളിവാസൽ) is a village in Idukki district in the Indian state of Kerala.[1] The first Hydro-electric project in Kerala was established at Pallivasal during the reign of Maharajah Sree Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma.[2]
Pallivasal Project
Pallivasal electric project was commissioned in 1940. Kerala electricity transmission system also emrged in 1940 with 66 kv line from Pallivasal to Thiruvananthapuram and eight substations were also commissioned in 1940
Demographics
As of 2001 India census, Pallivasal had a population of 11759 with 5965 males and 5794 females.[1]
