State park
Pilgrim Memorial State Park was created in 1920 to celebrate the 300th Anniversary of the Pilgrims landing. Landfill had been brought in, and the shoreline was changed, creating arms of land around Plymouth Rock. The portico was completed and other Memorials donated and dedicated. The park has continued to undergo changes throughout the years. The most recent improvement is the new modern bathroom facility and landscaping of the state pier.
