Plot summary
The story revolves around the life of 34-year-old Saanchi (Sangeeta Ghosh) who struggles to manage her deceased father's strawberry farm in Panchgani.[6] Her only focus is to secure the futures of her two siblings and care for her grandmothers. Neither love nor marriage is on her agenda, but all is about to change when Dhruv Goel (Ruslaan Mumtaz), a 27-year-old, charming, wealthy lawyer, enters her life.
Dhruv has traveled on a holiday from Mumbai and is staying as a paying guest in the house of Saanchi's neighbour and friend Dilshad (Delnaaz Paul). Saanchi finds Dhruv very irritating in the beginning but later they become very good friends. Dhruv falls in love with Saanchi during her younger sister Prachi's marriage with a young man named Sunil. Unfortunately, Rishi (Prachi's mother-in-law's brother) also falls in love with Saanchi. He has bad intentions. Saanchi and Rishi are about to get engaged when Dhruv reveals the truth about Rishi to Saanchi, causing her to break off the engagement.
Saanchi's elder brother, Pradeep, who wants her strawberry farmland to sell it to a rich industrialist, files a lawsuit against her. Dhruv goes with Saanchi to the court in Pune. Saanchi, on losing to her brother, becomes depressed, prompting Dhruv to try to console her. He inadvertently confesses his love.
Shocked by this truth, Saanchi misunderstands Dhruv and assumes that he is taking advantage of her. Dhruv denies this, but Saanchi leaves and returns to Panchgani. Dhruv promises that he will make her realize that she loves him as well. Dhruv tries his best to convince Saanchi, but she keeps on refusing. Dhruv decides to leave Panchgani and return to Mumbai. Saanchi stops him and realizes and confesses her love. Romantic moments take place between Saanchi and Dhruv, and Ulka Kaku (Saanchi's neighbour) notices. She informs Nani and Ajji; they become enraged and insult Dhruv. On the suggestion of Ulka Kaku, they fix a marriage between Saanchi and a 50-year-old man, prompting an enraged Dhruv to insult Ajji for making Saanchi marry an old man. Seeing this, Saanchi yells at Dhruv and tells him to leave Panchgani.
Heartbroken, Dhruv prepares to leave Panchgani. On his way to leave, Dhruv hears men insulting Saanchi's character and asking among themselves if she would sleep with them, since she had a relationship with a young man (meaning Dhruv). Dhruv confronts and has a fight with them. Saanchi, Ajji, Nani, Advait, and Dilshad come out of their houses and watch the fight, Ajji holding Saanchi's hand tightly so that she cannot help Dhruv. Dhruv manages to defeat the men. He tells Advait that if someone insults Saanchi, he must call him. Dhruv starts to leave Panchgani and everyone begs Ajji to let go of Saanchi's hand. Ajji releases Saanchi and she stops Dhruv from leaving.
That night Dhruv's mother gets a call from Ram Kapoor (from the series Bade Acche Lagte Hain) inviting their family to his daughter Peehu's birthday party. Dhruv's mother tells him to attend the party. Dhruv convinces Ajji and Nani to let him take Saanchi with him to the party. Dhruv's childhood friend, Ankita, meets him at the party and Saanchi also meets her and tells her to come to Panchgani to visit Dhruv. She realizes that Ankita loves Dhruv. Dhruv's mother gives him a surprise by coming to the party.
Saanchi meets Dhruv's mother and is shocked when she hears that Dhruv's mother planning to make Ankita his bride. She becomes very upset and leaves the party, causing Dhruv to follow her to ask her why she left. Saanchi refuses to tell Dhruv anything and suddenly Ankita comes to the scene and tells Dhruv to drop her home. After he drops Ankita home, Saanchi's mood gets worse. After Dhruv shouts at Saanchi in an attempt to find out the truth, she tells him about the marriage planned between him and Ankita. Dhruv and Saanchi return to Panchgani. Dhruv tells Saanchi that he loves only her, not Ankita, and that very soon he will tell his family about their relationship.
After a couple of days, Ankita suddenly comes to Panchgani. Saanchi becomes very jealous when she sees Ankita flirting with Dhruv. One day, Ankita gets lost in the woods of Panchgani, where she had told Dhruv to meet her but Dhruv had forgotten. Dhruv, Saanchi, and Dilshad search for and find Ankita. Dhruv tells her about the relationship between him and Saanchi, and a jealous and upset Ankita leaves Panchgani. Before leaving, she reveals to Saanchi that Dhruv had several ex-girlfriends. Saanchi begins to fear that Dhruv might break up with her and abandon her. Dhruv, after knowing this, gets very upset and does not talk to Saanchi. Saanchi makes a plan in the evening, the next day to convince Dhruv not to leave her. She looks beautiful in a red saree and convinces Dhruv.
The next day, New Year's Eve, Pradeep calls Dhruv to make him meet with the rich industrialist, who turns out to be Dhruv's own elder brother. Dhruv begs him to get off from this case as he loves Saanchi and tells him that he will convince their father not to buy Saanchi's land. Dhruv learns that the company from which his brother and father are trying to buy the land from Saanchi. He is the co-owner of that company named Prithvi Enterprises and is shocked to know it. He tries to tell the truth about him and his family to Saanchi on New Year but fails to tell her. The next day, Pradeep tells the truth of Dhruv to Sunil. Sunil tells Prachi to tell the truth to Saanchi. Prachi comes to Panchgani and tells the truth to Saanchi in front of Dhruv. Dhruv tries to explain himself to Saanchi. She misunderstands him, gives his engagement ring back, goes to her room, and cries continuously. Dhruv promises Ajji and Nani that he will convince his father to get away from the case and accept Saanchi as his bride.
Dhruv reaches Mumbai and convinces his father Yashwardhan Goel, a shrewd and successful businessman, to let him marry Saanchi. Yash agrees but has a plan to prevent his son from wedding Saanchi. Dhruv takes Saanchi and Advait to meet Yash in their office as he said that he would meet Saanchi only in the office. He tells Dhruv and Advait to leave the room as he wanted to talk to Saanchi alone. Yash offers Saanchi ₹20 crore, tells her to leave Dhruv forever, and says he will not take her land. Saanchi gives him a strong answer — telling him for her Dhruv is priceless — and leaves the room. Dhruv, after seeing this, asks his father why he did such a thing, and Yash covers up by telling Dhruv that it was a test for her.
Yash apologizes to Saanchi telling her that it was a test for her and she has passed it with flying colours. He also says that he has invited the whole family to dinner in Dhruv's favourite restaurant to meet Saanchi. Saanchi meets the family but Dhruv's mother talks to her alone. She tells her that if Saanchi marries Dhruv then there will always be a war between Dhruv and his elder brother and she will be the biggest loss of Dhruv's father. She tells her to leave Dhruv forever.
Saanchi takes a cheque of ₹25 crore from Yash and tells Dhruv nothing about the situation. She leaves for Panchgani with Advait and tells the half truth to him and cries a lot in the car. The next day, when she reaches Panchgani with her brother, she tells everyone that Dhruv will not come back, and that she has taken ₹25 crore from his father. But she does not tell the truth to everyone. Dhruv calls Saanchi to know the truth but she tells him that after seeing the digits in the cheque she could not stop herself to take it. Dhruv tells her that he has not seen a human being who can sell his/her love and disconnects the call.will they live happily married life?
