Redcar Academy, formerly Redcar Community College (also known as Outwood Academy Redcar) is a co-educational secondary school with academy status located in Redcar, North Yorkshire, England.[1][2]
In November of 2015 Redcar Academy began working with Outwood Grange Family of Schools implementing their uniform, behaviour consequence system and appointing Angela Sweeten as the new head.
The Current Headteacher, Angela Sweeten, was appointed in late 2011.
The school was made an academy in December 2011.
The Academy can cater for over 1000 pupils, however current admission figures report the Academy currently has between 700-800 pupils on roll.
The Academy is a Specialist in Visual and Performing Arts.
Exam results
Redcar Academy achieved the following results for the GCSE’s 2012-2013[3]
- 94.2% achieved 5 A* to C grades
- 95.5% achieved 1 A to G grade
- 42.6% achieved 5 A* to C grades including English and Maths
- 24.5% achieved 3 A* to A grades.
