Ricky Barkley Jean Francois (/ˌʒɔːn.frænˈswɑː/ JON-fran-SWAH;[1] born November 23, 1986) is an American football defensive end for the Washington Redskins of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft, and played college football at Louisiana State University. He has also played for the Indianapolis Colts.

College career

As a member of the National Championship winning 2007 LSU Tigers football team, he was the Defensive MVP of the 2008 BCS National Championship Game. Jean Francois was also a member of the LSU track & field team.

Professional career

San Francisco 49ers

Jean Francois was selected on April 26, 2009 as a 7th round draft pick for the 49ers. He became famous among 49ers fans for his "Peanut Butter Jelly Dance".[2]

Indianapolis Colts

Jean Francois signed with the Colts on March 14, 2013.[3] He was released on February 23, 2015.[4]

Washington Redskins

Jean Francois signed a three-year, $9 million contract with the Washington Redskins on February 26, 2015.[5]
