Sweden entered the Eurovision Song Contest 1993, held in Millstreet, Ireland.
The Swedish representative was again chosen through Melodifestivalen. Melodifestivalen 1993 was held on 5 March 1993 in Gothenburg. 1569 entries was received by Sveriges Television (SVT) for Melodifestivalen 1993, with 10 being selected to compete in the televised final. After 5 songs were eliminated, the viewers of melodifestivalen were allowed to select the winner through televoting.
The winner was dansband Arvingarna with the song "Eloise".
At Eurovision, Sweden performed 13th, following France and preceding Ireland. As the close of the voting, they had finished 7th in a field of 25 with 89 points.
