Tarika-e-Maizbhandari
Tarika-e-Maizbhandari is Sufi sect based in Chittagong District of Bangladesh.[1]
History
Maizbhandari Tariqa or Maizbhandari is a liberated Sufism order established in Bangladesh in the 19th century by the Gausul Azam Hazrat Shah Sufi Syed Ahmad Ullah Maizbhandari. (1826 AD − 1906 AD), 27th descendent of holy Prophet Hazrat Ahmad Mustaba Muhammad Mustafa.[2] Syed Ahmed Ullah Maizbhandari spent his childhood in his native Chittagong. After finishing his secondary education level, he was admitted to Calcutta Alia Madrasha (the Aliah University) of greater India for his higher studies in Islamic religion and philosophy.
Khalifa
In the way of Sufism or Islamic system, Khalifa means the authorized person who is assigned for a particular work. On the way of Maizbhandari, Gausul Azam Hazrat Syed Ahmed Ullah Maizbhandari assigned Khalifa to spreading the Maizbhandari Sufism all over the continent. Khalifa IS also considered as a spiritual master who is assigned or appointed for Sufism practicing.There are hundreds more Khalifa's from different places ,appointed for maizbhandari Sufism teaching. A list of his Successors was published by one of his descendants, Delwar Hossain Maizbhanderi, in his famous work 'Gausul Azam Maizbhandarir Jiboni O Karamat' (Life sketch of Hazrat Kebla Kaba) in this book.
