The Party's Over (1956 song)
"The Party's Over" is a popular song composed by Jule Styne with lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green. It was introduced in the 1956 musical comedy Bells Are Ringing by Judy Holliday. Nat King Cole, Smoking Popes and Lonnie Donegan recorded popular versions, and Doris Day's single stayed on the Billboard chart for 11 weeks in 1956. Shirley Bassey recorded the song for her first Columbia album "The Fabulous Shirley Bassey" (1959). Lesley Gore included a version of the song on her 1963 debut album, I'll Cry If I Want To.
It was the closing theme song of Polly Bergen's short-lived comedy/variety show, The Polly Bergen Show, which aired on NBC in the 1957–1958 season.
The song is also featured in the video game, BioShock, when the player interacts with jukeboxes.
